Amara's POV
I felt really bad after Ivan explained his motives to me . I felt so embarrassed that I couldn't utter a word and watched him leave. I shouldn't have been angry at him. He was angry and It somehow made me sad. I wanted to stop him, I wanted to tell him I'm sorry , I wanted to tell him I would think about it but I didn't find the courage to and he was gone. He is right, I care more about my ego more than my parents and my future. Deep down I want to go to college, deep down I wanted to make my parents proud but I didn't want to ask for help. I find it too hard to ask for help and I find it difficult to believe that someone would genuinely help me . I became this way because of my ex boyfriend Mike. Mike and I were the loveliest couple and only God knows how much I liked him. We used to see the movies every weekend and do all those lovely things couples do but I guessed he was only playing with me. I closed from school one day but was met with some bad boys who robbed me of everything I had leaving me stranded in the middle of a place I wasn't familiar with. I managed to access a phone and called him . I told him about the situation and he told me he was busy and couldn't pick me up. That was the most heartbreaking message I heard in my entire life. It was really dark and I was so scared..you might be wondering why I didn't call my parents initially and that was because I lied to them I was at my grandma's place when I've been with Mike . After hesitating for a while I called my dad who rushed to pick me up. I asked him to drop me off at Mike's place only to find out he was having a small house party and girls swooning over him. I stood there in tears but he didn't bother and told me I was a boring girlfriend just because I didn't wanna have sex.
"Are you okay?" Eric drifted me away from my thoughts.
"Yeah " I sighed.
"Did he harass you?"
"No ..can we leave?" I asked.
"Sure but I wanted us to see a movie"
"Thanks Eric but let's make it another time I'm really tired" I replied.
"I understand..can I have your contact" he said and I nodded. I took his phone and dialed my number on it .
"I will text you " he said smiling and I nodded.
It was dark so Eric and I took a taxi home instead of walking. He wasn't spending the night at Ivan's so he dropped me home and continued with his journey to his house. I turned on the lights in the living room and headed to my bedroom. I approached my window and looked outside to see if Ivan was at home but his window was closed and the lights were out. I sighed , drew the curtains and went back to sleep.
Ivan's POV
I came back home with Chloe from the supermarket. We were not on talking terms but she insisted on spending the night at my place saying she wanted to make amends. I led her to the living room, came back to lock the gates and headed back inside. She was no longer on her phone but was watching a movie and munching on some popcorns.
"Join me " she smiled beautifully.
"Alright , lemme change quickly" I replied and climbed upstairs. I had to change though but I wanted to see if Amara was back home. Apparently, my window was opposite hers and I could see her from my room . I opened my window to look and hers was closed but I could tell she was at home since her lights were on. I don't know but I cared for her in a very special way I couldn't understand myself. It all started after she crushed my party and when I had to take care of her when she was drunk.
I rushed back to Chloe wearing a pair of shorts and a yellow top. I sat next to her and she leaned her shoulders on me . I rubbed my hands through her hair and asked what she was watching. "An 18+ movie" she replied biting her lips.
"I see" looking at the kissing scene in the movie.
"What do you think about we acting the same thing" she said passing a finger along my lips.
"Are you sure you want that now" I teased passing my hands around her chest.
"I've never been sure of anything" she replied placing slight kisses on my lips. I grabbed her by the waist and placed her on my laps, her face facing me . I took the scrunchie on her wrist and tied her hair behind her. I traced my index finger along her face and I could feel her heart racing. I looked into her eyes and noticed the excitement in it before placing my lips on hers. She pulled my hair hungrily and pushed her tongue through my lips . I kissed her back till we were out of breath. I carried her in my arms and led her to my bedroom. I didn't like making out on my parent's couch.
I placed her on the bed and slowly unzipped her dress but she couldn't bear the pace and took her bra off herself. I laughed at how eager she was to have me in her.
"Fuck I've got zero condoms!" I said
"You must be kidding me right" she said getting up to check the drawer.
"How can you not have a condom at this crucial moment" she yelled angry and disappointed.
"I didn't know you will be sleeping over .. just give me a minute I will rush to get one" I replied
"You better hurry up before I finger myself" she said disgustingly.
I was returning home after I got the condoms when I saw two guys entering Amara's house. Initially I thought they might be a guest but considering how late it was and the fact that they actually looked suspicious, I wondered if they weren't robbers. Miss Cindy told me she was leaving town for two days and asked me to keep an I on Amara not necessarily babysitting her but she said so. I parked in front of my house and tiptoed inside the house since they didn't lock the gate. They actually looked like robbers so I called the cops immediately.
"Are you looking for something!" I said boldly when they were trying to open the door to the living room.
"Freeze!" one of them pointed a gun at me . I raised my hands and he urged me to come forward with his gun.
"Do you live here?" he said and I could tell from the voice he was either my mate or just a little bit older .
"Yeah and I already called the cops it's either you run away buddy or you rot in jail" I said after realizing he was holding a metal toy gun.
"We are in trouble man!" one of them said and I quickly recalled the voice.
"James!" I said taking off his mask and to my surprise it was him.
"Do you know him dude!" the other guy who was holding the gun said.
"Well Ivan it's not what it seems like" he stammered.
"Let's talk about this later on ..get out of here with your friend" I said disappointedly as I ripped off the other guy's mask. He nodded and run off with his friend. The living room door opened immediately after they left and there stood Amara with a tired look, one could tell she was sleeping.
"Ivan! What are you doing here and how did you get here!" she said, surprised.
"That's something I should be asking you!" I said foolishly knowing that was crazy but I was worried because what if she opened the gate before the bad guys had gone.
"Excuse me? I heard some noises and came to check besides this is my house" she replied and before I could answer her , the cops had arrived.
"We had a call from one Mr. Ivan ..is he here please?" one stout officer walked in asking, Amara looking confused.
"Yeah but they took off immediately when they saw me" I replied
"What's going on?" Amara asked me .
"I will talk to you after they are gone" I whispered to her and even though she didn't seem pleased she nodded.
"Well Mr. Ivan did you say they were robbers?"
"I don't know actually man ..they just looked suspicious"
"Alright but do you live here with this lady?"
"No please I'm a neighbor "
"Yeah I live here with my parents but they are on a trip" Amara said.
"Then you have to be extra careful miss..call us if anything.. thanks Mr.Ivan " he said and left.
"Now will you tell me what this whole drama was all about?" Amara said.
"I will tell you that at my place..you are not staying here tonight" I replied.
"Excuse me ..you don't tell me what to do you know that !"
"You are never going to listen right. fine .. some guys tried to invade your house...I think you left your gate opened or something that's how come I saw them..I managed to stop them and called the cops but I don't think it's wise to stay here alone . spend the night at my place" I replied.
"Really" she sounded frightened.
"Yeah shit ..I forgot to lock the front door!" she said
"How was that possible" I asked curiously.
"Mom is the one who always locked up and I guess I forgot I was the only one home.. lemme change into a proper fit and come with you " she replied.
"You don't have to change you will be sleeping anyway" I replied looking at her messy look which actually made her pretty.
"okay!" she replied and I led her to my place after I locked all the gates.
"Promise me my mom is never finding this out" she said when we got to my living room.
"I promise" I smiled at how cute she looked when she said that.
