Chapter 271 - United Earth Directorate Pov#1

"Never had I seen some inferiors scum that is more fanatical from the Imperium, even giving their lives to even drag us down... Who's this High Lord of theirs?!

Oh God help Me! *Transmission lost* " -UED Marine last transmission on Antiga prime

Admiral Dugalle frowned as he sat on his chair on his flagship NORAD II. Paperwork and reports is flooding into his desk and the situation is not good.

He was tasked to bring the Koprulu Sector to their knees.

He had four objectives.

. To conquer all of the "rogue" terran colonies, and capture the Emperor, Arcturus Mengsk, of the newly-formed Terran Dominion and High Lord of the Imperium Alexander Solair. These two figures are the important for the tribunal to judge their crimes for defying the UED.

. Take control of the entire Zerg Swarm by capturing the Overmind with psychics and powerful drugs. If it was deceased, find a substitute to control them.

. Use the captured Zerg Swarm to pacify all protoss activity within the sector.

. Ascertain the supposed Necron and Eldar controlled territory and used said control Zerg Swarm to eradicate the Xenos.

His sponsors told him to attack the Imperium first and what they met was a nightmare.

After they invaded the first two planet, a Supposed forge world and a Agri world at the fringes in a blitzkrieg, the defenders is fully aware and began retrenching their lines. Two planets and their response was quick. But not to the point as they were undergoing rearmament.

The arrogance of the invaders never realized that the people is fanatical and zealous.

They came to conquer for the riches and resources in the imperium... They were incentivized by money.

But the denizens of the imperium...

Not only they had incentives to fight back, but they had faith. Knowing they will go to heaven and many people died and became martyrs for the people.

Every day, rebellion and rebel groups popped up at the start until they were silenced by the guns.

But for every oppression, their resentment grew.

For every one that surrendered to the UED out of opportunity and become their dogs , the next day, they were hanged, shot, dissected and had their remains scattered in the plaza.

They believed that Alexander Solair was a tyrant just like Acturus Mengsk.

And they believing that the Imperial planetary defense forces were so weak that they would just sent a few ships and landed a few hundred UED marines along with platoons of support units, the planets would capitulate.

It didn't, and the first wave ended their last transmission with screams and plead of mercy in their final moments.

"Admiral, the people gone crazy! The godforsaken people is crazy!" Yelled one of the survivors. This soldier activated their emergency radio and managed to hijacked one of the local communication nodes.

"Report in." Dugalle spoke. His tone was flat. As if expecting something.

"They make monsters! Fuck they make monsters!" The panicked UED marine show his feed of what transpired of the first attack wave.

Man turned cyborgs on tank thread opened fire at them.

Giant machines that was not detected by radar erupted from the ground .

Mobs of civilians led by women in power armor as they chanted litanies of their faith.

Dugalle felt like he was facing a zealous and fanatical empire with a highly advanced technology behind it.

And casualties mounted that some of the captains demanded they simply just invade the Dominion as they are more easier to conquer.

Dugalle nodded as he sent half his armada that is led by Stukov to conquer the Dominion and he scatter the remaining fleets to invade in multiple planets.

One such planet was seen in the border of Dominion space. It was a mining planet that is surrounded by extensive asteroid belt.

A fleet of the UED arrived and began scanning everything

But it was dead silent. As if the planet lacked heat signatures and seemingly abandoned.

Even the orbital dockyards that hovered above the planet was empty of its occupants.

"Wow, this imperials are cowards!" A officer laughed as he can't believe his luck.

A fully intact planet that is rich in industry?

It was like a gift from the heavens.

The invasion force landed and began conquering the planet.

When they first landed upon the silent planet, they were arrogant enough to think that the population were subservient and held some lingering attachment for earth.

They believed that Alexander was more of a softer version of Acturus Mengsk and taking over a planet that was under his care is easy enough. As the first two planet they barely conquered.

Ignoring the reports of the other sectors showing the horors, they believed that they were truly lucky.

They haphazardly placed their forward base as if their victory is guaranteed. Not even placing trenches or even minefields.

Power armors battalions ventured forth and accompanied by platoons of vacuum sealed infantry with some armor support.

Capturing factories and workshop that had their products left unfinished. Making them think that its a easy win.

They were like going on a field trip than taking caution as they just handling some militias, not a full blown military. Giving them a sense of their awareness is unnecessary.

If a Imperial Commander from Ultramar saw this... They definitely want to strangle the idiots in charge. And use their corpses as a shining example of not using their brains.

As they saw was already a trap.

What the UED forces entered was a trap set by a giant of a man that bore the sigils of the Roman numeral IV.

He was one of many Alexander contingencies on the event that if he didn't arrived to command the Imperium under circumstances unclear.

Space Marines would be the makeshift commanders in his absence.

He didn't make enough for a legion.

Just fifty thousand of them, each one that contain 500 each to be manned the fringe planets of the imperium, and given all power to do whatever necessary to hinder or maimed the UED.

And the Iron warriors, now in a Galaxy that didn't heard of their name, grinned under their helmets, especially the unlimited powers until Alexander get back. Their creativity began running simulations on how to deal with the threat. And with the information of the enemies that they are fighting against...

They smiled wider.

Their estimation of victory?

Very certain. And later they deeds in later campaigns was more than enough for them to be a Chapter master candidate. .

As they commanded the baseline soldiers and wore their commanding structure like a glove. With more technology they have in their arsenal, their tactics and strategies to implement their creativity blossom widely.

What better Astartes legion in the Koprulu Sector to be the defensive is the Iron Warriors. As Alexander let the Iron Warriors do what they does best...

Make the enemies bleed to death with spite.

Watching the holo screens that show the invader location, silently grinning as he would make merits to be a chapter master... If his defenses proved successful. He turned from the screen and watched his brothers awaited his call.

"Let's us make sure that they will never leave alive. Let's go brothers and give them a warm welcome."

He gave them a false sense of security... Then his trap would be set.

Just a few hundred miles from his position, was a set of Orbital batteries that is covered by a stealth generator that hidden them from not just plain sight, but also radar and scanning apparatus, had it been in the morning, it would have been found out.

By the Astartes luck, the invaders invaded in the night. And its their playground to fight with.

"Hey, is it just me sarge.. or the planet is too eerily quiet?" His junior spoke.

The houses and building were as if evacuated in haste, as if hours before their arrival. Scattered clothing and plates filled with food that was made 3 days ago lingered on the tables.

"Did the recon team just checked the planet?"

"They clarified that there is not much of a threat and our forces can absolutely trampled over them. Just some local fauna that shoot darts, nothing more dangerous than that." The radio operator spoke.

They heard the roars of the Artillery, as if it was waking the beast that dwell in the planet alive. Three blue beams of light, shot up in the night sky. Missile trails lighted up the night sky as if giving them a warm greeting as they rained down on the UED general location.

"Take cover!" Everyone of them laid low as the saturation barrage rained down around them.

They heard screams. Bone and organs flew around. As the barrage held no end. Cratering the landscape of planet beyond recognition.

One invader along with platoon that laid flat to avoid the Artillery barrage, watched in horor as he looked up he saw a normal sized man wearing a gasmask carrying a flamer.

He couldn't tell the gender behind the gasmask, but he felt the maliciousness behind the mask. He tried to grab his gauss rifle but found that it was lost during the bombardment. And he turned around and found that the platoon is shell shocked.

The gasmask figure simply doused them in flames.

He watched and screamed as the flames scorched on his power armor and his squad.

He saw the flames devoured the infantry that accompanied his squad didn't even had the power armor.

He thought that his suit would defend him as the suit can withstand what seemed to be a normal flamethrower.

But he didn't know that the flamer that his enemy is using fuel from the sun above.

And he's quite literally cooked alive in his power armor by the power of the sun.

His voice tried to scream, but the flames devoured him faster than his brain could realized that his comms system in his suit was melted. His last moments was the red glare of the lens of the gasmask as his flesh turned into charcoal.

The silent figure stood before a charred power armor that turned into carbon. The figure hummed as he walked to the next squad as the night was young and he have more enemies to present to the emperor.

Everything around them was destroyed.

Even the factories that they captured is destroyed. And the famed armoured Artillery of the Iron warriors rained upon the UED defenses.

Tank columns that wasn't even there appeared so close to their defensive lines.

Trenches that they unable to scanned broke free from the camouflage netting, bursted forth and the defenders unleashed their lasguns at the UED.

Planes dropped minefields to the point that it blanketed the battlelines.

Leaving the Attackers caged in with the defenders.

They saw the defenders were insane enough to attack in a danger close artillery and into the very same minefield they laid.

As if the defenders didn't even bother of the monetary value of the things they are destroying.

The people that was in the planet already evacuated a week prior.

They were held in underground bunkers that protected them.

"Command, this is Squad 3-1, what the hell is going on here, I repeat this is Squad 3-1 of Johnson company, please respond!" One of the UED marines yelled at his comms. He and hi squad was pinned down in a ruins of a canning factory that makes jam for bread...

their source of light was their power armor damaged led lamps and their gauss gun flashlight that flicker in the darkness, the holes on the roof that the factory that suffered from the bombardment, shows the stars light that seeped into the factory.

Like a ghastly horror waiting to happen.

In the distance he could hear his comrade screaming as gunfire from the gauss echoed in the distance.

All he tried to send for help, all he received was silence. And he felt the grim reaper blade as if it was real.

His squad felt tense, as if something is watching them in the darkness.

"Sarge.... We should-" a private was dragged off in the darkness. He was screaming and became silent as something in the darkness of the factory ended the man.

The Sarge fired his gaus rifle, illuminating the darkness with the tracer fire. He saw a giant shadow fled deeper in the facility that was beyond his understanding.

He heard a scream... But now another lost to the darkness, from a squad of 7, only 5 remains.

"I...I can't take this anymore!" One of the weaker willed screamed as he bolted towards the exit. Just as he was about to reached the door. He was crushed by a giant suit of power armor.

"Fire at the freak ahead!" The Sarge yelled as he coordinated the team to take different positions.

The gauss bullets slammed into the energy shield of the giant before them.

Before they could even respond, the figure before them, laughed as giant flames scorched the factory.

This was akin to a fly trap and the insects swarm willingly jumped into the trap.

The ground forces of the UED is being systematically ripped napart. There was no pleas of negotiations or mercy.

For the Angels of War... They heard none.

For they bring death and fury in their wake.

Above the planet the attackers was on, the leading Battlecruisers was torn asunder, hitting their command deck instantly as it was like a suv car crash to a log that went 900 mile per hour..

And the support fleet was baffled. Another set of beams taken out another part of their fleet, piercing several ships in the process.

"Admiral! This planet have Orbital guns! The scans unable to verify it! I repeat, the planet have Orbital guns!" The surviving Battlecruiser captian yelled.

All he received was a foreboding scrambling of static. And his Adjutant told him his worse fear..

"++Warning, Transmission not sent, unable to transmit to Command due to unknown interference.++"

As they were in chaos of losing chain of command.

The ships that was guarding the planet, now began to hunt them down. Their shadow now creep behind the forsaken fleet, unaware of their death is reaching behind them.

In this system, there was a extensive asteroid belt and they scanned it at the start and found nothing.

But like the planet below, in the said asteroid belt, was hidden bases and Dockyards that is shielded from their scanners.

The asteroid even have airfields imbedded in the giant sized rocks.

They hidden themselves in the asteroid field, waiting for a sign, and as the fifth barrage was sent, it was the trigger for them to charge.

Numerous thrusters, of all sizes lit in the asteroid belt alike, from the voidcraft, the mech alike to the humble frigates began to roar to life to face their enemies.

They launched their mech and fighters from the hidden base and hangers of their ships as the vanguards as they launched missiles and torpedoes barrage to assist their voidcraft and mechs by hiding their heat signatures.

The invasion force was stupefied. As their spies reported that there was never a significant pdf fleets station on this insignificant planet.

And they were more baffled of the fact that their foes even use Asteroid as primitive weapons, strapping rocket and explosive stuffed into it, as a makeshift bomb.

If a Imperial Commander saw it, they would yelled out.

"Its a frakkin Ork Rok!"

It was more economical as rocket fuel and explosives is cheaper than water.

Chaos was the theme. And if the ships managed to avoid the orbital defense cannons, the salvos of missiles and torpedoes, and the sheer dumb luck of not getting downed by mech and fighters..

The rocks turned makeshift explosive battering ram would end them.

It was practically impossible for the ships to take evasive actions as debris and friendly fire is hindering them.

And what make matter worse was the fact that Asteroids rocks that is the size of Minnesota is barreling towards them like a battering ram. They hit with precise accuracy as the UED is running out fo ships.

Forcing Dugalle to hijack a Dominion impounded ships yard. And a

Using the Dominion ships yo offset their losel lmk

Making the battlefield more chaotic.

The captains of the remnants of the ship that is still standing tried to call for help, but they were still in communication blackout, and those that had the brains tried to escape, but found that their engines is dead. As those humanoid weapons destroyed their engines as they were too distracted.

They watched as the pdf fleets is approaching them and they prayed whatever mercy the fleet would have for them.

But mercy they found none.

As Alexander gave the orders to the Iron warrior to be independent before he came back... It was their discretion to be independent thinking, and their conclusion...

Leave none alive.

It was insulting that these false terrans denied the emperor and his ideals. And called them... Inferiors.

And more insultingly, they didn't try to struggle hard enough.

Even some of them had memories of the siege of Terra.

They felt more disgusted with the enemy.

As the of the marine that survive the assault and tried to tell Admiral Dugalle. He stopped as he screamed in horror.

There was a snap on the marine end of the communication.

Dugalle watched as the man that murdered his men, closely.

It was like a giant stuffed in a space suit, bigger than what they would even called human. He couldn't even see the assailant face as it was covered with a helmet.

"What...Are you?"

"I am the Angel of Death... And I judged your men... unworthy. So do you... Who harmed the imperium.

"I only came here to pacify this rebellious scum for the UED!"

The giant laughed.

"Vengeance is due for traitors of humanity that pretend and sit on a false Terra.

I allowed this traitor to communicate to you...

So that my face would be the last thing you ever see... Traitor.

You will be judged by the Emperor of Mankind, beloved by all. And may your death be swift.

You will have no honor... No mercy... And death...for you... Is not the end." The marine communication was shattered on the other end.

Dugalle sat down... As he tried to relay the information back on earth...

That the Imperium have monster in their ranks... And they are beyond what they estimated...

The man spoke in slow words as if to impact Dugalle mind.

The admiral felt fear crept up his aged spine.

As if he was back in his youth when he first started out in the military to pacify the Jupiter wars...

That facing the imperium will bear a heavy cost of their defeat.
