I find myself at a crossroad.

Having to test the waters and finally come clean before things get out of hand.

My lawyer had drafted the emancipation papers on July 7th, the night of my birthday and I have been holding out til Christmas to break the news.

I've already gone over it in my mind countless times, —from my grandmother being hysterical down to her convincing my mother to back her up with some plausible notion when she realises that threatening to take away my trust fund nor entire inheritance won't work as one of the clauses on my emancipation agreement states how I not only renounce the family title but any ties related to it.

The corners of my mouth twitch upward as I imagine the look of defeat stamped onto Charlotte Coopers elderly yet always put together and elegant face. A part of me expects her to be aware of what's been in the works for years or maybe I've never made it clear of my twelve year loathing streak.
