A loud, dramatic and drawn out groan was heard as Zhang Zitao opened his eyes, immediately being blinded by sunlight. He rubbed his eyes in discomfort, mumbling incoherently under his breath. He hated sunlight and morning.
After glancing around, he noticed that everyone was still asleep. On top of that, Mingshu wasn't anywhere to be found. This meant he was probably down patrolling the grounds.
It was a little warmer thanks to the light, so Zitao decided it was time to work on some talismans. He opened his bag and pulled out a stack of thin paper, as well as a red pen. He thought for a moment before he started drawing the character for fire in swift and elegant calligraphy. He smiled softly at his handiwork, before doing the same thing on a few more pieces of paper. After his 50th sheet, someone finally shifted awake.
"Levi?" Jean asked lightly, blinking a couple times as he fully sat up, looking at the young prince. "What are you doing?"
