As the Tang Army continued its advance, the defensive lines of the Dwarf 4th Group Army within Eternal Winter Port had become disjointed. Although they hadn't been encircled and cut off, the twisted frontline resembling a starfish clearly illustrated the dire situation.
Inside Command Post No. 2, General Moss's staff was reporting on the recent battle conditions. With no pattern to his speech, as there was no time to organize the various pieces of received intelligence, he stated, "Command Post No. 1 is lost... The 4th Division is continuously retreating and has already relinquished part of the port, with the Tang Army controlling many key facilities."
Not only did they lose Command Post No. 1 near the port, but also the barricade position at the crossroads they passed on their retreat to Command Post No. 2, all these places had fallen under Tang Army control, showing how close the actual control lines of both parties were to where Moss was located.
