Chapter 13 - Gift

Time Skip~

I am currently training my Pokémon. I'm wearing a black and white striped crop top, which is sleeveless, and black shorts, giving me a good look. Over time, I've grown to not hate wearing girls' clothes, but it's not that I've grown to like it.

Maybe just a little.

"Sid, come on, it's time! Or did you forget?"

"How could I forget, Mom? Today is the start of my journey," I replied.

Yes, today is my tenth birthday, making me eligible to register as a Pokémon trainer.

"Then come and get ready for the party."

"Coming, Mom."

I am currently wearing a white halter-neck dress for my birthday party. The dress looks quite gorgeous, with white lace and an asymmetric cut below. The halter neck, shaped like flowers, is a showstopper, and the high-low hemline looks perfect.

Below the dress, I'm wearing white high heels and a Bloom Lotus diamond necklace. The lotus is made from red diamonds, with other colored diamonds accentuating its beauty, and to finish it off, I've applied some light makeup.

Overall, if I looked like a princess at my other birthday parties, today I look beautiful, like an angel straight out of a beautiful painting.

As I came out of my room, I saw my house decorated with various ornaments, and my mom, the maids, Rita (my Pokémon), and my dad were standing together. Besides Dad and Mom, I saw a familiar face—it was Darsna.

"My, the birthday girl looks like she just stepped out of a fairy tale. But are you really going to start your journey like this?" Darsna asked.

"No, Mom asked me, so I thought I would do it for her," I replied.

"Anyway, congratulations and happy birthday," Darsna said.

"Thank you, Miss Darsna. It's been a while since I've seen you," I said.

"Sorry, kid, but I had work to do."

"It's okay. I understand," I said.

"Happy Birthday, young master," all the maids of the house said in unison after noticing that the conversation between me and Darsna had ended.

"Happy Birthday, son/Sid," Mom and Dad greeted me.

My Pokémon also spoke. I think they were greeting me too, but I can't understand their language.

"Thank you, everyone."

After that, I turned toward my cake. It was a three-layer choco velvet cake. After I cut it, the birthday song began.

"Sid, here's your gift," Dad said, handing me a box.

"What is it, Dad?" I asked, noticing an unfamiliar object inside.

"It's a Pokéball case. As the name suggests, this case can hold up to fifty Pokéballs, and it can only be opened with a fingerprint. I thought it might be useful for your travels," Dad explained.

"Thanks, Dad. This is indeed useful," I said, taking the case.

"Here, Sid. Hope you like it," Mom said, giving me a bag similar to the one I used during my Kanto trip.

"Is this the bag...?"

"Yes, it's a travel bag, similar to the one you used during Pokémon camp in Kanto. But it's more advanced and has more space inside," Mom said, explaining the features of the bag.

"Young master, here's a gift from us," the maids said, handing me a gift pack. When I opened it, I saw a beautiful blue-colored pair of headphones.

"Thanks. I really like this," I said to them.

"Young master, your gift," Rita spoke.

"Huh? But you just gave me a gift."

"It was from the other maids. I also have a gift for you."

"Hmm, okay, give it to me."

"I am your gift."

"Huh?" Hey, hey, you can't say things like that. You really have grown into a beauty with cherry-colored hair and purple eyes. Forget it.

"Rita, do you understand what you just said?" Mom asked.

"Hmm? I just asked him to make me his personal maid," she replied.

"Rita, someone says that when they propose to someone or want to do something special," Mom said, causing Rita to turn completely red with embarrassment.

"Sorry, young master, I didn't..."

"It's okay, Rita. I understand," I said, calming her down a bit.

"Fufu, I don't mind if you have her, Sid," Mom said in a teasing tone, causing Rita to turn as red as a tomato in embarrassment.

"Okay, jokes aside. I also have a gift for you," Darsna said, interrupting the conversation. I gave her my thanks, as it was getting very embarrassing for her.

"Thanks," I said as Darsna handed me a ball wrapped in gift wrap.

When I opened the gift wrap, I saw a Pokéball.

"Is it a Pokémon?" I asked, as no one had given me a Pokémon as a gift, other than Dad, who had given me a bunch of Pokémon eggs before.

"Yes, it is. Although you have some really great Pokémon, including two Mythical Pokémon and two Fossil Pokémon—which even Champions rarely have—I thought that this Pokémon would suit you," Darsna replied. I sensed a bit of jealousy when she mentioned Zoroark, Darkrai, Kabutops, and Aerodactyl.

"Okay, thanks for the gift. Now, come out!" I said as I threw the Pokéball. The Pokémon that emerged was one I wanted, but I never thought I would receive it as a gift.

It was an Eevee.

"Surprised?" she asked.

"Yeah," I replied.

"Then it was worth it," Darsna said.

"Eevee, from now on, I will be your trainer. Let's get along well in the future," I said, patting Eevee's head.

"Eevee," it said, nudging its head toward my hand. I think it liked the patting.

"Eevee, look, from now on, they will also be your family," I said, pointing toward my Pokémon.

As they greeted her, she buried her head in my chest. It looked like she was afraid of them. It's going to take some time since all of my Pokémon have evolved to their final forms in the last three years, except for Froakie and Monferno. Aerodactyl and Kabutops are already in their final forms. And don't forget Darkrai—he can make almost anyone wet their pants.

Due to this, together they give off a somewhat intimidating look, which could scare someone who sees them for the first time. It will take some time, but I'm sure they'll become good friends.

"Young master, you didn't answer me," Rita said.

"Hmm, what?" I asked, not remembering what she had asked me.

"About me being your personal maid."

"Ah, I think you should take care of your mom," I said, as her mother had been in bad condition before, and I didn't want that to happen again.

"No need to worry, young master. My mom is completely recovered and is currently on a trip to Hoenn," she replied.

"If that's the case, then I'm fine with it. But I may have to travel a lot. So let me ask you again: do you really want to become my personal maid? Because if you do, you'll have to travel with me everywhere." I said, wanting to make sure she understood what would happen if she became my personal maid. I wanted her to be free to decide.

I think Mom or Dad must have asked Rita to do this, as she's closer to me than the other maids.

"I'm okay with it."

"Are you sure?"

"100%."

"Okay, then. From now on, you'll be my personal maid."

"Yes," Rita spoke with a small, barely noticeable smile. But I noticed it because she rarely smiles.
