Chapter 7 - LMLY #06

I didn't notice how many months had passed, but I am still receiving tulips on my desks even if I'm already a college student now, so how come that person knows where I am sitting?

Adie and I are not on the same course and section. Ishanna and Jay had a comeback behind Yoshi who was courting Ishanna back then and he found out because Adie saw them "dating" around the mall.

Well, to make the story cut off short, they had been dating before, and Ishanna knows how much I admire Jay, but she forgot that we're best friends. I let it pass, but they got together, so who am I to meddle with it? But the moment Jay came back and Ishanna spilled those words in front of me, I believed that she's not worthy to be friends with anymore.

Then Adie saw them on the mall, the time he's out with Yoshi and immediately told him and that's how Ishanna's not part of the group anymore.

"Hey, Naomi, I bought three cinema tickets." Adie greeted me after our class while waiting for me outside our classroom.

Yoshi and Adie stayed beside me and I became closer to them because of what had just happened between me and Ishanna.

"Taliyaaaaaaaah!!! Do you have some books there that I could borrow?" Yoshi asked before hugging me from behind.

I saw how Adie's eyes lowered the moment he saw how Yoshi hugged me.

"I don't have one, Yoshi. Get lost." I tried to loosen up his hands wrapping around my waist, but he just tightened it. "Do you have a crush on me, Yoshi?"

Adie cleared his throat and Yoshi immediately moved away from me.

"Seems like I won't give the ticket to you, Yoshi." Adie squinted his eyes towards his cousin, the reason for me to laugh.

"What are we going to watch, by the way?" I asked while looking at Adie who is now fixing his glasses which he got before we graduated from senior high school. It was a clubmaster type of glasses, tho they're just clear and I must admit it, it looks perfect on him.

"Hmm, that NCT Dream movie." He gave me an awkward smile.

"WHAT? I don't like—" I glared at Yoshi who is now going pale. "Okay, okay. No need for you to look at me like that."

"When, Adie?" I asked before fixing my bag on my shoulder. It's getting heavy.

"This coming saturday." He gave me a warm smile.

"Saturday…" I am thinking of what's going to happen this Saturday, but I don't remember anything, so I agreed.

;

The moment I got home, as usual, my family was not around, so I made my way into my room since I am not starving. My stomach doesn't absorb that much food nowadays.

I was changing my clothes when I received a call from Adie.

"Hello?" I put my phone on the loudspeaker to hear him clearly, but the line just ended.

He must've dialed the wrong number.

From: Adie

I'm sorry for the call. Are you home already?

I finished changing my clothes and just called him since I have no work to do tonight.

"Do you miss me that much?" I heard him chuckle from the other side. I rolled my eyes even if he didn't see it and laughed.

"You wish. You're not even my type, Adie." I let out a chuckle before laying down on my bed.

"Really, huh?" He whispered something unclear. "Isn't it your birthday this coming saturday?"

"What date is that?" I yawned.

"December 3." He sounded hesitant to tell me that, but it somehow flattered my heart. "Let's just celebrate it with Yoshi and your other friend, Jia."

I bit my thumb before a smile flashed on my face.

"Sure, Adie." I sighed. "Thank you."

"Hmm?" If he's just in front of me, I bet I had hugged him tightly already. "How's your day, by the way?"

That question made my night, the reason for me to fall asleep while just listening to his voice as he sang me songs and strum his acoustic guitar.

;

The next day, it's a holiday, so I stayed up in my room again for almost the whole day, trying to make myself busy by doing some stuff that would make me enjoy my course.

"Taliyah, you have a visitor downstairs!" That was the call of my day, the only reason why I went downstairs.

"You didn't tell me you're going to have a visitor." My mother strictly uttered while fixing our center table.

"I didn't know that he'll come." I even tried to explain it, but they won't listen anyway.

"Is there something wrong?" Adie asked as soon as I placed the biscuits in front of him.

I shook my head and just smiled. "Nothing's wrong, Adie." I poured his drink into a glass. "What brings you here?"

"Uh, I would like to invite you out. But if you're not free today—"

"Wait for an hour, please." I cut him off and got up and ran towards my closet to choose the nicest among the nice dresses that I have.

Gosh! I didn't expect him to personally invite me. I'm being pressured!

;

"I'm ready," I said after an hour of preparing. "I am sorry, I took so much time preparing."

He gave me a warm smile and said, "It's fine." And whispered something, but I didn't hear it clearly.

"Are we going now?" I asked and that's when he looked like he just remembered that we'll be going out.

"I'm sorry, I spaced out." He nervously laughed while trying not to look at me because of his now reddish cheeks.

"Why are you blushing?" I asked while giving him my most teasing smile. "Do you find me gorgeous for you to blush like that? Or you have problems with this dress?" I stopped in front of him as I said those words before looking at the green floral dress that I only wear during special occasions. Today isn't a special day, but maybe it will be.

"If you want, I could still change this—"

"No, Naomi, don't change your clothes." He cut me off as he rubbed my hair.

I looked at him, confused. "But you're not talking to me—"

"I just don't know what to say after seeing you wearing a dress. I am not good with words, Naomi, and you know that." He cut me off. "You look more gorgeous than Aphrodite."

He said those words while looking directly in my eyes, and his compliments sent me the feeling of being above the clouds.

Knowing that he's already blushing, he still continued to say, "You're very very very beautiful, Naomi."

I chuckled and nodded at him before holding his hand and told him that we should leave now.

"Where are we going now, by the way?" I asked him before putting on my seatbelt.

"Hi, Naomi!!! Did you miss me?" A loud voice came from behind which made me cover my ears.

"Shut up, Yoshi." Adie and I said in unison.

"Adie, this car's mine. You have no control over—" Before he could even finish his sentence, I put a lollipop on his mouth.

"You talk too much!" I said, irritated.

"Thanks, my love." He fixed himself at the backseat and stared outside the window.

I gave my attention back to Adie who started driving the car. "Where are we going?"

He shrugged. "Where do you want?"

"You asked me out without even thinking where we're heading into?" My voice raised because of panic. "Adie!!!"

Yoshi chuckled from behind. "Isn't it obvious? He just wants to take you out 'cause he knows how exhausted you were." He tapped Adie's shoulder. "Let's go to Manila. I have tickets for an art gallery."

"How come you have a ticket?" I asked as I tried to take a glance at him.

"Why do I have to tell you, Taliyah?" He sounded serious, the reason for me to mock him.

"Why do I have to tell you, Taliyah? Yah, yah, yah." I rolled my eyes and just stared at the view outside the window in front of me. "I want some matcha."

"I want some matcha." Yoshi copied me.

I sighed. This will head nowhere.

Adie drove into Starbucks and ordered us coffee, frappe, and some food.

"Will you two please stop mocking and teasing each other?" Adie asked calm—no! He's irritated.

I silently ate my food as my eyes started to wander on the road and its surroundings.

"It's gorgeous." I whispered.

"Yes, it is." I heard Adie whisper and even saw his eyes take a glance at me with the rear view mirror.

I shook my head off and just took a sip on my cup.

I guess this day would be exciting.
