Chapter 76 - Chapter 75

The two sisters, dressed in casual oversized hoodies, loose cargo pants, sneakers, and baseball caps, wandered through one of Beijing's most luxurious boutiques.

They had left home intending to go racing, only for it to suddenly occur to them that the race wouldn't begin until evening. So they decided to go shopping instead.

"Guo Min!". Ruoxi stepped out of the dressing room wearing an elegant ivory silk dress decorated with delicate pearl embroidery, she spun around once. "How do I look?".

Guo Min slowly looked up from the watch display then cleared her throat before speaking in an exaggerated deep masculine voice. "My beloved... you shine brighter than the morning sun. Marry me this instant."

Ruoxi placed a hand over her chest dramatically. "Yeah, yeah." She rolled her eyes. "That's what all you men say." She pointed accusingly at her sister. "You sweet tongued liars."

The two looked at each other and burst into laughter. Still laughing, Ruoxi waved toward a sales assistant. "Miss, please pack this, this, this and ...".

"I want that." A woman's voice interrupted.

Both sisters turned.

A stylishly dressed young woman walked over confidently, pointing directly at the dress Ruoxi had chosen. "I'll buy it."

Ruoxi frowned. "...Excuse me?"

"I said I want it."

"We picked it first." Ruoxi folded her arms. "First come, first served."

"I don't care." The woman shrugged. "I like it."

Guo Min quietly exhaled, she really wasn't in the mood for unnecessary drama today, without sparing the woman another glance, she turned toward the sales assistants. "It's alright, pack the dresses for us." Her calm voice instantly drew everyone's attention, before she added. "I'd like to look at your men's watches."

She smiled politely. "Something elegant and expensive yet understated. It's a gift, please bring me every premium collection you have."

"Immediately, Miss Guo." The assistants hurried away.

"Ruoxi." Guo Min looked at her younger sister. "Go pick something for yourself." She paused. "And choose one for Lixi too, I want to give her a get well gift".

Ruoxi nodded happily and she disappeared deeper into the boutique.

Several minutes later. The assistants returned carrying tray after tray of luxury watches.

Guo Min carefully examined each one. Her fingers finally stopped on a black platinum timepiece with a sapphire blue dial. A faint smile appeared. "...This suits Zihan."

She lifted it gently. "I've never seen him wear jewelry except watches. A ring would've been nice... But this feels more like him."

"I'll take that watch." The same woman spoke again.

Guo Min slowly raised her eyes and their gazes met. "...No, choose another one."

The woman frowned. "I said I want...".

Before she could finish, Guo Min stepped forward and pinched the bridge of the woman's nose firmly between two fingers which was enough to stop her from speaking.

The woman winced instantly. "Mmgh!".

Guo Min's smile never disappeared but her eyes had turned ice cold. "Shut your mouth." She glared.

She turned to the workers not releasing her nose. "Pack the watch for me, the dress and any other things miss Wang picked, tell her I'll meet her at the counter".

Stunned, the employees were but they immediately carried out her orders, leaving the two of them alone.

Guo Min finally let's go.

The woman immediately stumbled back a step, rubbing the bridge of her nose as anger flashed across her face.

"Do I know you?, what is the problem?". Her voice came out flat.

She glared. "... You this... Do you even know who I ...". But yet again she was cut short.

"I'm not interested, if we ever cross paths again, act like you never saw me". She paused, and carried her handbag from the chair. "That would save us trouble. Bye". Without waiting for a reply, she left.

The woman stood rooted to the spot, fists clenched so tightly her nails dug into her palms.

"I was wondering what was taking you so long". Ruoxi spoke on noticing her.

"Nothing, come on, let's go". They walked out of the building.

A valet brought their car around, loaded the shopping bags into the trunk, and moments later, the engine roared to life.

Leaving the shopping district behind, they drove toward the underground racing park, where the city's illegal racers would soon gather as evening settled over Beijing.

The underground racing park was already alive long before sunset.

Floodlights illuminated the enormous abandoned industrial district while music thundered through giant speakers, vibrating through the asphalt. Rows upon rows of modified supercars, sports bikes, and luxury vehicles stretched across the lot. The smell of burnt rubber mixed with gasoline lingered in the cool evening air.

Crowds gathered behind metal barricades, shouting as racers revved their engine.

A black SUV slowly rolled into the parking area and heads instinctively turned as two girls stepped out of it, both in oversized hoodies, loose cargo pants, sneakers, and black face masks that hid the lower half of their faces. Their caps were pulled low enough to shadow their eyes.

Whispers immediately spread through the crowd. "...They're here."

"No way..."

"I thought they quit."

"The sisters are back."

Ruoxi stretched lazily before throwing an arm around Guo Min's shoulder. "I missed this place."

Guo Min scanned the track ahead. "...Nothing has changed."

A familiar man jogged toward them, grinning from ear to ear. "Miss Guo, miss Wang!".

He stopped in front of them with a wide smile. "You've disappeared for months. Everyone thought you two quit."

Ruoxi laughed. "We did take a long break."

The man pointed towards two covered cars. "I kept them exactly the way you left them."

Guo Min smiled. "Thank you."

The covers were pulled away, underneath sat two beautiful cars. One was a matte-black Ferrari 488 Pista and the other was a pearl-white Nissan GT-R R35.

Ruoxi squealed, hugging the hood dramatically. "My baby!."

Guo Min simply walked around her Ferrari, running her fingers across the smooth paint before opening the driver's door and settled into the driver's seat.

The familiar scent of leather instantly calmed her, she adjusted the mirrors, fastened her harness and then pressed the ignition, which made it roar to life. Guo Min smirked, "Yeah I missed the sound of that".

Ruoxi started her own car moments later, which also answered with a deep, thunderous growl.

The crowd erupted, everyone was eager to see today's victor. "Holy crap, they're really racing!".

"Been a while since Phoenix and Scarlet raced together!"

A loud horn echoed through the track, eight different cars slowly rolled toward the starting line and each of them looked ready for war.

The organizer climbed onto a platform, his voice blasted through the speakers. "Tonight, one lap, the mountain route, tighten your belt drivers cause we go in...". He paused as he raised his flag watching the signal light. "THREE... TWO... ONE".

The sound of eight engines detonating at once shook the entire circuit and the crowd screamed. Smoke erupted behind the engines.

Guo Min shifted into second gear almost instantly the race began, then third... forth.

Ruoxi was already laughing through the communicator. "Oh God! I've missed this!, you are having fun aren't you".

Guo Min smirked. "Why wouldn't I be?".

The first corner approached rapidly and Instead of braking early, Guo Min accelerated.

"What is she doing?!". Someone in the crowd screamed.

Just at the final second, the Ferrari drifted sideways with terrifying precision. The rear tyres kissed the edge of the guardrail before snapping perfectly back into line.

The crowd exploded. "SHE'S CRAZY!".

Ruoxi followed immediately behind. Her GT-R slid around the same corner, inches from Guo Min's rear bumper. "Guess you haven't gotten rusty!".

"Well, I guess I haven't". She mocked.

The mountain road narrowed and one careless mistake would send a car tumbling hundreds of meters down the cliff.

A blue McLaren suddenly swerved, attempting to block Guo Min, but she laughed and calmly downshifted, then Ferrari's engine roared, Instead of backing off, she aimed directly for the tiny gap between the McLaren and the cliff edge.

"No way, there isn't enough space!".
