Zhou Can's face was ice-cold, with no trace of an apology.
His attitude was even tougher than Du Leng's.
"You… don't think I'm scared of you just because your status in the hospital is higher than mine. If you don't give me a clear explanation today, I'll make a huge scene if I have to. Worst case, I'll just quit this damn job."
Like most men, what Du Leng could least tolerate was his wife being bullied by another man.
He knew his status was far beneath Zhou Can's. If he wanted to make a fuss over this, he had to be ready to risk everything, to pull the emperor off his horse.
"If you want to make a scene, go ahead. If I'm scared of you, I'm not surnamed Zhou."
Zhou Can really wasn't afraid of Du Leng stirring up trouble.
He was clean and upright, hadn't done anything wrong at all. What was there to be afraid of?
