"Are you all out of your mind?" Serafall screamed. She let her aura explode, and the entire council hall began to freeze as the temperature dropped so fast that some of the weaker members started to shiver uncontrollably.
"Serafall! How dare you shout at us?" an old devil yelled, standing up in a rage.
Normally, Sirzechs or Ajuka would step in to calm things down. They usually played the mediators, letting the council members feel like they were in charge. But this time, they stayed silent.
Before anyone could blink, the old devil was sent flying. He slammed hard into the stone wall, leaving a crack behind. When the rest of the council finally realized what had happened, they turned to see Sirzechs. His hand was still raised; he was the one who had attacked.
"Sirzechs! Have you gone crazy, too?" another member shouted. He looked angry, but his voice was shaking.
He wasn't the only one. Most of the council members looked at the Four Satans with pure terror. Some were already sweating, quietly preparing teleportation circles to escape the room before things got even worse.
"Crazy? Yes, you could say that. I'm sure anyone who was told you fight God in a meaningless war just to save their stupid status would go crazy, and besides, when did you get so arrogant to order me around like this? Heh, do you still remember I am your demon king?" Sirzechs said, his voice cold as he stared at the council member who had dared to yell.
Just that single look made the man instinctively flinch and take a step back. At that moment, the expression in Sirzechs' eyes was absolutely terrifying. There was no warmth left in them, only a dangerous pressure that made everyone in the room feel like they were standing on the edge of a cliff.
"Hmph. So you actually feel fear now?" Sirzechs sneered. "Then tell me, how the hell do you have the guts to pick a fight with God? Someone who is ten times more powerful than me?"
By the end, Sirzechs was roaring, and he finally let his own aura explode.
His power was much heavier and more dangerous than Serafall's. Under that crushing pressure, the council members couldn't stay still. The weaker ones scrambled away immediately, hiding behind the stronger members who were desperately trying to release their own auras just to stay standing.
But even though they were being suppressed, the council still didn't realise how bad the situation was; there was still some brainless fool who didn't recognise reality yet. One of the most powerful and arrogant members shouted, "Sirzechs, enough! Is this how Satan is supposed to act? If you don't retract your aura, we will also take action!"
"Take action? Take action, you fucking geezers?" Sirzechs countered with a sneer. "You still dare to say that? If you are so capable, then why the hell don't you go and fight God by yourselves?"
"You!" the council member hissed. He was shaking with fury because Sirzechs had made him lose all face in front of everyone. In his mind, he was already planning his revenge—he decided that once he got back home, he would make this bastard pay dearly for this insult.
Of course, that was assuming he actually managed to leave the room alive.
Just as the tension reached its breaking point and everyone was on the verge of a bloody fight, the sharp click of high heels echoed through the hall. The sound was so clear and steady that it immediately caught everyone's attention.
"My my, it sure is lively here," Roxanne spoke in a cheerful tone as she walked into the council hall. This time, she didn't come in her Shalltear form but in her true form.
Roxanne, who usually always kept her human disguise, walked right into the heart of the Devil Council, the headquarters of the entire devil race.
But not a single devil dared to speak up about how audacious it was for a human to show up there. This was because, right behind Roxanne, a silver-haired beauty with an ice-cold face followed her. Wearing a maid outfit, the woman walked with a calm but deadly grace. This person was none other than Roxanne's favorite blood-devil maid, Luciana.
"You! How dare you—a criminal—show your face here!" one of the devils shouted, his eyes turning bloodshot as he glared at Luciana. He looked like he was on the verge of going berserk. It was obvious he belonged to one of the families that had been victims of Luciana's actions in the past.
In fact, he wasn't the only one. More than half of the council members had similar expressions on their faces. Since the devils Luciana had killed were from the New Devil faction, their relatives needed high status to even dream of revenge. This was exactly why most of the members in the council held such hostile feelings toward her.
Seeing Luciana was taking all the attention, Roxanne pouted. As an attention seeker, how could she bear this? So Roxanne snapped her fingers, and then all those devils who showed hostility towards Luciana were made into blood mist.
Seeing that half of the council members were suddenly killed by this human girl, the rest of the devils were stunned, and then they all entered combat mode. Even the four Satans did the same.
No matter what, these dead council members were still leaders of the devil race. Letting them die under their watch is like a huge slap towards them.
And besides, with the dwindling pure-blooded devil population, every pure blooded devils like an endangered species. This is also why Serafall, who handles foreign affairs, tries her best to save those good-for-nothing family heirs even when they should be punished by death.
Seeing everyone had turned their attention back to her, Roxanne's vanity was greatly pleased. She then looked around and asked, " Huh, did that old Bael not come here? "
No one answered her. Everyone was looking at her with cold expressions, with some even openly showing their hostility.
Seeing no one was answering her, Roxanne turned to look at Luciana. Luciana noticed her gaze and spoke, " He seems to have gone out of his mansion towards one of Rizevim's secret base "
" Hmm, did those two guys really get together? " Roxanne asked in surprise. This was a real surprise for her. After all, who would have thought that the leaders of the old Satan faction and the new Satan faction were friends?
"Well, no matter. Then, devil race, let me teach you the reality you are all trying to forget," Roxanne spoke. She looked at the council members with a smile that didn't reach her eyes.
At this moment, there was a heavy silence before everything changed. The devils could no longer keep their cool. Air felt like it was about to explode as the council members prepared to lash out in pure rage.
