Mu Yichen was only six at that time and the already so distant My Yichen isolated himself more from the rest of the world, he couldn't believe what his father had done.
Now with the absence of his loving and caring mother, who could he open up to?, certainly not his cheating father who he had lost his trust.
Not long after the painful demise of his mother, Mu Yichen could clearly remember it like it was yesterday.

Adding two and two together his gaze zeroed in on the boy and the girl his father held, he kept quiet waiting for his father to deliver his words.
"Xiao Chen I know things have been hard since your mother died and we'll miss her dearly, but we're going to have a new family now" his father said carefully trying to choose his words but it was futile.
"These are your new siblings Mu Yichao and Mu Yutong" his father said calling the names of the boy and girl respectively.
'Yutong?' Mu Yichen wonder why the character Yi was missing.
"Mu Yutong is your adoptive sister while Mu Yichao is your half brother" his father said clearing his suspicion.
His father stood up and gestured for Gai Qintong to come over as he placed a hand around her waist.
"You're going to have to call her mother now" his father said smiling thinking everything was going to be okay.
'Unbelievable' were the words Mu Yichen muttered to himself.
Judging by his half brother's age he was only at least a year younger than him. Which meant his father had started cheating after he was given birth to.
The audacity of him to stand here boldly and say he had a family outside just because his wife's death had paved a path for him to come out without guilt ha! and he expected his legal children to welcome them with open arms? how ironic.
"Father, you disgust me and I'm very disappointed in you" Mu Yichen said as he finally looked up at his father with a cold gaze that even sent a shiver down the spines of the people around.
Mu Yichen walked away not acknowledging the existence of his two new siblings who were wondering why their new brother had treated them so coldly.
"Mu Yichen...!" Mu Yaofeng said trying to call after his son but got ignored as Mu Yichen disappeared into the house and ran up the stairs to his room shutting it with a loud bang.
After that My Yichen locked himself up in his room and the sound of objects falling to the ground which scared the maids who tried to pleas with their young master.
Mu Yichen turned a deaf ear and refused to eat.
"Don't worry I'll handle it you all may go back" came the voice of a cute young lady in a pink gown.
It was Mu Yifei, The first child of the Mu family and My Yichen's older sister.
She stood at the front of the and knocked softly. "Xiao Chen it's me" her voice echoed in the now empty hallway.
There came a click but the door didn't open. Mu Yifei went ahead to push the door slightly as she walked in.
She walked gently into the now disorganized room as she avoided broken pieces of the vases that once beautified the room.
She glanced at the shattered family photo that once hung on the wall of the room and her gaze darkened.
Just like the picture and it's broken frame, their once happy family had been torn apart and like the glass fragments their family would never be whole again.
Mu Yifei looked at her younger brother who was now in bed with a pillow over his head.
"Xiao Chen look at the mess you've made, I know you're angry but you could have injured yourself in the process." Mu Yifei said trying to clear the air.
"I don't care" came Mu Yichen's muffled voice.
Mu Yifei sighed and reached out to remove the pillow which Mu Yichen allowed without struggle.
Mu Yifei moved further into the bed and put her brother into a sitting position.
Mu Yichen was a strong willed boy but they were both still children. What could they possibly do against the adults, they were utterly powerless.
Mu Yifei reached out and hugged her brother where they found comfort in each other's embrace as she ran her hand softly over My Yichen's head.
"Everything will be alright, mother may be gone but we still have each other right?"Mu Yichen gave a slight nod.
Truly they could only confide in each other and with all the bottles up pain, Mu Yichen began to cry.
For the first time since his mother's death he cried as he held until his sister and shortly Yu Yifei began to cry to.
Their fathers betrayal was proof it was a cruel world out there and they must do everything they can not to fall a victim to it.
That was the last time Mu Yichen ever shed any tears.
He became extremely cold always ignoring his new siblings as they made effort to get close to him.
He hated Gao Qintong and refused to ever call her mother hence further straining the relationship between father and son.
Mu Yichen knew Gao Qintong was an evil woman, she was his mother's best friend and that was how she had met his father.
Knowing his father was married, Gao Qintong still went ahead to seduce his father and bore his child.
The position she held as his father's secretary was given to her by none other than his mother. If his mother had known she would have never been so kind to the snake.
Hence her death, it was a speculation but as My Yichen grew up and had resources he was very sure Gao Qintong had a hand in his mother's death.
He swore he'd bring her to her knees and let his father know of the grave mistake he had made...
