Ryder and Kairos stood side by side in their own combat stances while Frost stood across from them. The tension was palpable as both sides prepared themselves for battle. Frost doesn't waste time and stomps his foot on the ground causing a wave of ice spikes to race towards Ryder and Kairos. Both members of Team RK leap into the air and dodge the ice attack. Frost then rockets into the air after Team RK. Ryder and Kairos both dive to the side with Ryder going right and Kairos going left. Frost flew past them before he quickly turned around while summoning large spikes of ice in the air. There were six of them in total. Frost then launched them at Team RK. Both team members created a barrier of their own respective energies. Kairos used his violet-colored energy and Ryder used his magical energy. The large spikes of ice collided with the barriers and caused a cloud of ice shards and frost to coat the area around them.
They drop their barriers before the ice shards and frost then swirl around and gather in Frost's hand to form an Arrow shaped projectile that was much larger than a typical arrow. Frost then pulled it back before throwing it at Kairos. Kairos weaved his body around it and dodged the arrow. But once the arrow hit the ground beneath Kairos, a large pillar of Ice shoots up and smacked him.
"Kairos!" Ryder said in alarm and concern.
Kairos was just about to stop his momentum, but Frost charged him and punched him in the face with an ice-covered fist. Kairos was launched at the street below and once he hit it his aura flickered. Ryder lunged at Frost and threw a hard right hook, but Frost dodged it and sent his own punch right into Ryder's chest knocking him back. Using the momentum he gained from that punch, Frost then spun around as he gathered ice in his hands creating a spear and threw it at Kairos. Kairos barely dodged the spear of ice by rolling to the right. Ryder then dove in and punched Frost in the face knocking him down into a building. Ryder then gathered magic and launched a barrage of Magical blasts similar to a Ki blast barrage. The barrage destroys the building and damages others. Frost then suddenly appeared right beside Ryder and round house kicked him in the face knocking him backwards.
Elsewhere, Summer dodged Ruby's scythe and then parried Qrow's scythe before jumping back to dodge a bullet from Yang's gauntlet. Yang presses her assault and throws a punch at Summer, but she used the flat end of her axe to knock her fist aside before using the flat end again to smack Yang in the face knocking her back a few steps. Summer then quickly made her weapon go into rifle mode and was about to shoot Yang before Qrow came charging in and kicked her back causing her to miss her shot. Summer stumbled back and Yang quickly leaped forward and punched her in the face, hard enough to cause her to stumble back again. Ruby, Yang and Qrow stood at the ready while Summer grabbed her head while looking away. She then moved her hand off her head and looked around, she then returned her gaze to the trio and her eyes were back to their silver color.
"Qrow?" Summer asked.
Seeing her eyes back to normal, they lowered their weapons.
"Mom!" Ruby said, rushing towards her, thinking she was back.
But before Ruby could reach her, Summer's eyes slowly went back to their Grimm color as she let out a yelp of pain and grabbed her head. Summer then just as quickly attacked Ruby, hitting her in the face with the flat end of the axe with enough force to launch her back at Yang and Qrow.
"Ruby!" Yang cried out before she caught her.
Ruby's aura flickered as she grabbed her head in pain. Qrow then looked at Summer who glared at them. Qrow then switches from Scythe mode back to sword mode as he now knows Summer is still in there somewhere.
"We will save you Summer!" Qrow declared.
Summer was about to lead another assault but heard something behind her. She turned around to be kicked by Raven Branwen who charged her from behind.
"Raven?" Qrow asked, surprised to see her.
Raven then sees Qrow and Yang but returns her attention to Summer who charged her and swung her axe blade. Raven countered with her sword creating a mini shockwave. Qrow charged and leaped into the air before diving down with his sword ready to slash. Summer noticed this so she kicked Raven back and blocked Qrow's attack as he landed. Summer then used her semblance to hurry away before Raven could reach her. Summer stopped using her semblance and backed up a little. Raven and Qrow stood side by side.
"How? How are you alive?" Raven asked. "I thought you..."
"Salem's controlling her." Qrow said.
Raven's eyes widened as she looked at Qrow who then looked at her.
"By the way, why are you here?" Qrow asked.
"You know how my Semblance works; I felt Summer through our bond. That bond somehow was reestablished for a moment." Raven explained. "But I thought she died."
"Must be Salem's doing. Her control over Summer must've broken that bond." Qrow theorized.
Summer then suddenly charges Qrow and Raven. When she launched her first strike, both Raven and Qrow blocked it before they both pushed Summer back making her step back.
"We need to do something to break Salem's grip on her." Qrow said.
Raven then got an idea, it was a long shot, but it's better than nothing.
"I'm going to try and use my Maiden Powers." Raven said.
"What?" Yang asked.
"Maybe I can counter whatever Salem did." Raven said.
"Better than nothing." Qrow said. "let's do this."
Qrow then charged Summer with Raven following him. Summer charged them and they clash blades in the middle of them. Summer then has to block strike after strike from her two combatants. She then tried to spin kick Qrow, but he dodged and grabbed her leg. He turned around and threw her with all his might. This made Summer drop her weapon. When she hit the ground, she rolled a bit before getting back to her feet. But Raven flew at her with the maiden powers activated and tackled her to the ground. She then placed her hand on Summer's forehead while Summer fought against her grip. Raven then used her magic. A red energy swirled around Raven and Summer as the Grimmified woman began let out a scream of pain.
"Raven stop!" Qrow said, concerned for Summer's safety.
But Raven saw that Summer's eyes were slowly going back to normal.
"No! It's working!" Raven shouted back.
Yang and Ruby get closer with their weapons ready. As Summer screamed, her eyes shifted back to their silver color. She soon stopped screaming and Raven moved her hand off her forehead and got off her. Qrow rushed over and saw that Summer's eyes were closed. She then slowly opened her eyes and saw the others above her.
"What happened?" Summer asked.
Qrow held a hand out and Summer grabbed it. He then pulled her up off the ground and once on her feet she looked at her hands. Her eyes widened seeing her Grimm like appearance.
"W-What, happened to me?" Summer asked.
"Salem did this to you." Qrow said calmly.
Ruby dropped her weapon and quickly embraced Summer catching the Huntress off guard. Yang did the same. Raven went to pick up Summer's weapon.
"R-Ruby? Yang?" Summer asked. "You..."
Yang and Ruby step back from Summer who looked at them.
"You've grown." Summer said. "How long have I been gone?"
"Too long." Raven said, handing Summer her weapon.
Summer grabbed it and looked at it before she looked at her loved ones. They all then heard a loud bang and looked up to see Ryder crashing into the ground.
"Ryder!" Ruby shouted before rushing over to him with Yang.
Qrow, Summer and Raven looked up and saw Kairos block an ice blade from Frost before he is then kicked in the stomach by Frost. Ryder tried to get up before Ruby and Yang reached him and helped him up.
"Man, that guy packs a punch." Ryder said.
Kairos is then punched down at the street below. Frost went to charge but was nearly shot by Qrow. Frost looked over so he descended and landed in the street in front of everyone including Kairos. Kairos pushed himself off the ground and got ready to fight. Frost then notices Summer is not fighting the others and guesses that she broke free of Salem's grip. He was about to talk but a Manta flew overhead, and someone jumped out of it. It was Ironwood. Ironwood landed beside Qrow, doing a hero landing before pushing himself up and standing up straight.
"James." Qrow greets.
Ironwood then turned to whoever they were against. When he saw Frost, his eyes widened in shock while Frost clenched his fists and glared.
"O-Oliver?" Ironwood asked.
"Father." Frost said with hatred.
Those who knew Ironwood were stunned hearing that and they looked at Ironwood.
