Chapter 118 - Chapter 116: Vacation is Over - Book 2 Start

Both Grace and No Name head to a location that is similar to an alley dead end, and it is quite clean, hidden from the public unless accidentally stumbled upon.

Grace gets her ID out and holds it in her hand.

"Time for us to part ways. See you later."

No Name: Yeah, see you.

Grace holds up her ID in the air, then immediately, light from nowhere flashes her 4 times, and she disappears.

No Name then pulls her ID out, holding it in the air, and light from nowhere flashes her 4 times, and she disappears.

Grace appears in a white area that resembles a lobby. There are a few people in the same location as Grace. Most of them are scattered across the room, while there are two of them standing guard in front of a double glass door. Through the glass, there seems to be more white beyond this room.

Grace walked toward the door, then stopped. One of them looks at her for a few seconds, like they are analyzing her, then gives her a nod.

The double glass door automatically slides open to reveal to her a pitch-dark hallway, which she nonchalantly walks forward until another double glass door suddenly appears in her path, open and showing her another lobby that is no way near as empty and colorless as the previous location.

Grace:… (I guess this is it. Vacation is over… can you even call it a vacation though, considering the amount of heart attacks I had?)

*get her phone out, then dial a number*

*wear her glasses*

*then she presses call on her phone and starts walking*

!

A female voice is heard on the other side: Hello…

Grace continues walking and staying composed, like she is expecting something: Hi, Ame.

Ame:…

Grace:…

Ame: YOU SELFISH JERK! WHY DID YOU LEAVE WITHOUT ME! THOSE TWO DAYS THAT I HELPED YOU PICK OUT YOUR OUTFIT, AND YOU EVEN HAVE THE NERVE TO SNEAK SOME OUT BEHIND MY BACK! HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY? GRACE!

Grace: well, I'm currently in public, and your yelling might have caught some attention.

Ame: DON'T TRY TO BE SMART! I KNOW YOU WEAR THOSE GLASSES WHENEVER You take a call.

Ame's voice suddenly gets lighter, and another voice comes through the phone: Hi Grace, how was your vacation?

Grace: Hi Arsène, thank you for helping me.

Arsène: Same goes to you-

Ame: GIVE ME BACK MY PHONE!

*sound of footsteps running in the background*

Arsène: Before I was being rudely interrupted, thanks to your vacation, the shop got cleaned up on time.

Grace: That's right, we got a week after graduation to move our stuff out of the dorm before they kick us out. Was everything going smoothly?

Arsène: Everything after was smooth, before that…

Grace heard a strange noise coming out through the phone while Arsène was speaking.

"I'm sorry, am I hearing crying in the background? Is Ame crying?!"

Arsène: Unfortunately, yes.

Ame sobbing: GIVE ME BACK MY PHONE! *sob* why are you doing this to me, I just want to talk to my girl. *sob*

Grace: This doesn't seem like her at all.

Arsène: I know.

Ame sobbing: Gimme my phone, Gimme my phone!

Arsène: Can you just stop it for a moment?

Ame:…

Grace: Wow, th-

The most wretched screech was released after the moment of silence, forcing Grace to pull her phone away from her ear, and it then followed up with unintelligible sentences, with the sound of crying and sobbing sandwiched between the sentences.

Arsène tosses Ame's phone back at her, and she immediately stops crying with a bit of sniffle.

"Happy now?"

Ame gently smiles: Thank you, brother. *sniffle*

Arsène: Sure. I'll see you later Grace.

Grace: Yeah, see you then.

Ame: Hi, *sniffle* Grace. Sorry about *sniffle* that. I just really, really miss you, that's all.

Grace: *sigh* Got it. I'm sorry for secretly leaving without you but, if you promise to calm down, then I'll tell you everything after I come back. Ok?

Ame:… *sniffle* I'm sorry, but I think I cried too much that I can't stop sniffling.

Grace: *giggle* Ok. Just send me the location and picture of the shop, then I'll be back in at most 15 minutes. Ok?

Ame: ok! *hang up*

Grace: Can't believe not seeing me that long makes her that sad.

*ping*

*ping*

After a few seconds, Grace received the picture and location of the shop through her glasses. Looking at the message through one of the glasses eyes, while the other eye has the map open.

"So that's where they are… that is the nearest teleport location. Ok, will be less than 10 minutes to get there."

She removes the glasses and then immediately starts running, dodging and weaving through the people in her way. While running, she passed a sign with the word *Domestic* written on it along with an arrow pointing in the direction she was running.

After less than 30 seconds, she saw the same black hallway leading into the white lobby. Immediately put on her glasses and continue running straight into the wall. After coming in contact with the wall, it absorbs her like a water droplet falls into water. She continued to run while surrounded by an empty black void, only for a few seconds, then white light flashed in all directions, but she was still running.

Then, while being blinded, she hit her face into something flat and made out metal, knocking her down on her ass and her vision returned to normal. Currently being surrounded by four white walls on top of a building.

"Ow! Of course you never learn, Grace. Stop running in the teleport room they said, you will get hurt they said… well they did have to reinforce these walls and other destinations because someone fell and died. Maybe they should just nullify the duration of the blind."

"Well, it happens, can't do anything about that."

*pulls out her phone to check on her face*

"Ok, canvas still fine, just pink red not blood red."

*wear her glasses*

"Ok, that way. *run at the white wall* Alley-Oop!"

She created an ice platform and jumped over the white wall with her luggage in each of her hands, which landed her in the middle of an alley in mid-air of a 3-story building.

(That's right, I can't fly.)

Grace then twisted her ankle, and blade popped out from both of her shoes, turning them into ice skates, then she created an ice path and safely skated down from the air at a dangerous speed.

(THANK YOU GRIMM FOR IMPROVING MY ABILITY!)

After safely getting down, she takes a few steps back to admire her creation, then melts them all and steps out to the corner of the alley to avoid getting splashed. Then she looked back and commented.

"That's a big ovulation… I should get going."

Running through the unfamiliar neighbourhood with her luggage dragging on the ground until she arrives at the location, where the first thing that caught her eye was a sign with the name,

'Noir & Blanc Tailor Shop'.

Grace takes off her glasses: This is too blatantly obvious, if this is not it. I have no word.

As she walks toward the door of the shop, her body suddenly feels like there are multiple eyes watching her.

Grace:… *shift one of her legs*

Suddenly, the door burst open, a girl wearing a white dress with a petite physique lunged at her, and crying in her chest.

Grace removes her hand from one of her luggage and pats the girl's head: Hi Ame! I'm back.

Ame: I'm sorry, I just can't hold back.

Grace: Don't worry, this is too common for me.

Then a boy who is wearing a normal white button-up shirt and black dress pants comes out of the doorway.

Grace: Hi Arsène. *notice he made some eye movement, and suddenly the feeling of being watched was lifted off her body*

Arsène: Hi Grace. Come in. Ame, stop embarrassing her in public.

Amelia: I hate you! *glare at him*

Arsène: The more you say it, the less effective it becomes.

Grace: How about this? Ame, you help me get my luggage in, then I'll let you have as much fun as you want with me.

Amelia was stunned for a few seconds by that statement, then grabbed Grace's luggage from both of her hands.

"Ok, no take backsies."

*quickly escape with Grace's luggage*

Arsène: Something good happened on your vacation? First time seeing you allow her to go rampant without begging first.

Grace: You could say so, and I've never seen her that sad, consider her positive personality.

Arsène: Yeah, that sure is a first for me too. Weird that, this is the most she cried besides that time she hospitalized our mother. That means she really loves you.

Grace: You mean care. Love has a more potent meaning.

Arsène: No, even she would say that she loves you.

Grace: Stop joking around and show me the place.

Arsène: You know I rarely joke, but you are right. Let me give you a tour.

Lead Grace inside and close the door while looking back one last time.

Inside the shop, the interior looks simple and quite old. There is a small front desk in the middle of the shop, and on both sides are curved staircases leading to the second floor of the building. On both floors, there is a room to the far left and right, all vertical to each other.

Grace: Quite a nice shop, let's me guess the two rooms above are for resting, while the two down here are for working.

Arsène: Almost correct, those above are either your or Ame's room. And mine *point at the front desk* that where I sleep.

Grace: Whoa, that's a bit too much. It's your building, I can't steal a whole room for myself while you sleep… there.

Arsène: You will be our assistant anyway, so it's best to give you a place to stay as your payment.

Grace: Hey, we are friends, and I am willing to do that for free… wait, we? Don't tell me, my body's gonna be used by you too?

Arsène: Don't make it sound weird. You know enough about me to know I won't act like my sister.

Grace: Well, I am an attractive woman.

Arsène: And? I have no romantic feelings about you.

Grace: Sure, you don't have any romantic feelings for me *waving her hands frantically around* but, you know. Biology and stuff, you can't control that. I don't want to accidentally see what I should not see and act out of bounds.

Arsène: Just stop being paranoid. Not gonna do anything inappropriate to you, that's Ame. Also, why are you suddenly thinking about jumping on me out of nowhere?

Grace: haha, well, I think you are right. I might be a bit paranoid since we are not living in a dorm with thousands of students anymore.

Arsène: Just because you hit 18 doesn't mean your libido's gonna have an overwhelming boost…

"Wait?"

*take a few steps away from her*

"Did that happen to you? During vacation?"

Grace: Nononono, nothing li-

Amelia: GRACEEEEEE!

Suddenly, Amelia yelled out from the second-floor room, making hasty footsteps, then jumped off the second floor, aiming straight at Grace.

Grace: Wait-What? *too confuse of what is happening made her unable to react properly*

Arsène caught Amelia by the collar of her shirt, then used his other hand to muffle her mouth.

"Can't you stop screaming like a banshee every 10 minutes?"

Amelia makes some eye signals at Arsène that she will bite his hand if he doesn't remove it, which he has to oblige. And the moment he removes his hand.

Amelia: SHE HAD SEX!

Grace :…

(ESPÈCE DE SALOPE, COMMENT AS-TU FAIT POUR COMMETTRE CETTE ERREUR!)
