As predicted, both Shoto and Yuki passed all tests. Endeavor congratulated Yuki while he scolded Shoto on why he didn't win 1st place. Following the days they continued to study and train, awaiting their first day at U.A. High School. Shoto had completely refused to use his fire Quirk and would only train his ice Quirk, Yuki only had one quirk that he could train with but he would secretly use the second one when nobody was monitoring him.
Every day was a repetition until it was officially April and their first day of school started as they stood in front of the gates of U.A.
Shoto seemed irritated by the stares that they were getting—as they knew they were Endeavor's children—but Yuki pay no mind to them as he was excited to finally attend a school in which they would be using their Quirks. But he was also nervous, as he had to meet new people.
"Yuki," Shoto grabbed Yuki's arm.
"Don't get near strangers." He glared at students who still hadn't taken their gaze away from them.
"I mean, we're going to have to get to know people in here anyways…" Yuki said while Shoto was already dragging him away to go to class.
They walked down the hallways to finally arrive in front of class 1-A. Shoto was about to open the door and walk in with Yuki before Yuki stopped him in confusion.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Yuki took Shoto's hand off his arm, questioning Shoto.
"...What do you mean what am I doing?" Shoto stared at Yuki in confusion, not understanding what he was asking.
Yuki sighed.
"You know this isn't my class, right?" Yuki scratched his head.
"...What…?" Shoto stood there flabbergasted. He hadn't thought that they were going to be in different classrooms or that they were going to be separated. So, Shoto looked inside Yuki's backpack and took out his schedule, reading it to make sure Yuki just made a mistake.
"Class 1-C? Since when is there 1-C…I think they put you in the wrong class." Shoto returned his schedule as he still tried to pull Yuki into the class.
𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘮𝘺 '𝘦𝘹𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦' 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘦…
"Hey!" Yuki screamed out to Shoto, "What are you doing?! Do you want to embarrass me?" Yuki tried to pull himself away from Shoto but he wouldn't budge.
"Is the staff's fault for putting you in the wrong class." Shoto was able to move Yuki an inch closer to the door.
"Stupid! Do you really think the staff will mess up, look we're only two rooms away anyways!" Shoto suddenly let go. Letting Yuki fall on his butt, shouting an 'ouch' on impact.
"Oh…you're right."
Yuki stood up and told 'See you later' to Shoto, not wanting to be seen by any students after the whole quarrel, he quickly rushed to his classroom. Opening the door and entering the classroom.
Upon entrance, he could see that kids had already made friends with one another while others just minded their own business. He awkwardly stood in front of the door before walking to the nearest table though he was stopped from sitting down.
"Oh, make sure that is your seat. We all have a seat number on the schedule, that's our assigned seat." a girl with short dark green hair said.
Yuki took out his schedule and looked at the number on the top corner of the page.
"12…" Yuki murmured but was heard by the girl.
"Oh! You sit behind. Come, come, here's your spot!" the girl seemed very excited, patting the desk behind her as a way to welcome Yuki.
He sat down and put his backpack on the ground, not long after, the girl introduced herself.
"Hi! I'm Rika. Morikawa Rika. Nice to meet you!" Rika nodded her head as a way to greet Yuki.
"I'm Yuki Todoroki, nice to meet you too!"
Actually, Yuki wasn't pleased to meet her. Something else that he knew about this world was that there were only two classes for the Hero of Departments and those were either A or B, not a C. Taking this into factor—and the fact that he was adopted by the Todoroki family—his existence is bound to change a lot of things in this world, though he doesn't know if there had already been changes done because of him. As he doesn't know the whole lore of this world.
"Wait…so you're Endeavor's son?" Rika's eyes lit up.
"Yeah, my brother also attends this school. He's in class 1-A though…" Yuki said.
"Hmm…" Rika hummed in delight, finding it cool that she was attending the same class as a hero's son.
"You really are soft-spoken, huh?" Rika referred to how quiet Yuki was.
They continued talking while students came flooding the classroom when the bell finally rang and everyone went to their assigned seats. Not a second later, Thirteen came flooding in.
"Okay, class! I'm the homeroom teacher for class 1-C, some of you might know me or not but I am Thirteen. I hope to spend this year with everyone with no troubles." She introduced herself while bowing and the class bowed back in unison in respect.
Right after introductions, she started to explain what they were going to do for the whole year. Yuki was already expecting the all-nighters that he was going to pull once again and try to balance his training between school and home. 𝘌𝘹𝘩𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨. He was exhausted just thinking about it; his chance to also get a social life was thrown out of the window before it even started. Contemplating his life, he took an opportunity to look around and see his new classmates, some catching his eye. There was a guy with bunny ears, a girl with a teddy bear on her desk, one girl with significantly long hair that seemed to be floating on water, another girl who was seating with the perfect posture while judging everyone else, and a guy that had a pumpkin for a head.
𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘭… 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘩…
"So, we will be doing a Quirk Apprehension Test after class 1-B but for right now, break time! See you in 2 hours!" Thirteen grabbed her papers and left.
The whole class was silent.
"...That's it?" Someone in the class said.
"Well, it is the first day of class…I don't think they're going to be that loose in the upcoming days…" Another one said.
"So," Rika turned around her chair and faced Yuki.
"What's your quirk?" Rika placed her chin on her hands, dying to know about Yuki's quirk.
"Uhh, it's 'Winter' if that makes any sense…" Yuki fidgeted in her seat awkwardly.
Not thinking that Rika understood what he said, he avoided her gaze but Rika nodded enthusiastically.
"No worries! I totally get what you're saying. Your quirk is basically the subject of winter, you can use ice and snow—from my understanding—and manipulate the properties of winter, right?" Rika smiled while explaining.
"Yeah, that's right! Some people think that I can only use ice though…" Yuki explained to Rika.
"Understandable because you are a Todoroki…" Rika started to look in her bag, searching for something.
Something that no one else knew was that Yuki was actually adopted. At first, he questioned why Endeavor didn't want anyone to know that he was adopted but then everything that was happening within their family—it seemed like he didn't want to add any more fuel to the fire. Shoto had also told him to not tell anyone about him being adopted just for safety reasons.
"And what's your quirk?" Yuki asked Rika.
Instead of telling him what her quirk was, she decided to show it to him. Out of her hands, she created a golden ring that looked like the coins of Sonic but thinner. Expanding it and making it smaller to fit around her wrist like a bracelet.
"My quirk is pretty forward, it's 'Golden Rings'" She vanished the ring from her wrist like a magic trick.
They didn't have anything to do for the first hour rather than talking about their hobbies, favorite things, the reason why they came to this school, and what they want to eat for the afternoon. Yuki learned that Rika was actually a national gymnast before coming to U.A. and that she had about 53 Academic Awards; she was smart-smart. Rika learned that Yuki was also smart—maybe smarter than her—that he takes pills for a condition regarding his Quirk, and his favorite dessert is Crème brûlée. So, with this new information, they decided to study together in the last hour.
And finally, their teacher came back.
"Alright everyone, put on your gym clothes, and let's go outside." Thirteen said with a cheery tone.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Class 1-C was standing outside in the P.E. Fields while Thirteen explained the rules to them.
"These are just short tests where we will test your quirks, just because we need to know how well you do with your quirks in physical tests. First, we will do a 50-meter dash…Naoki Shimomura and Elena Gonzalez are up first" Thirteen pointed out to two kids.
Naoki had pink hair and did not seem very enthusiastic about the test while Elena—who is an international student—was a girl who had fairy wings and seemed like an innocent princess from a shoujo manga.
A robot with a camera stood at the end of the line. A device used to measure the seconds students would finish dash in.
"Get ready…set…go!" The robot shouted.
Naoki placed his hands on the ground and lifted the ground around him, flying across the track very fast and Elena flapped her wings as fast as she could and flew across.
Naoki finished first.
"4.36"
Then Elena.
"6.56"
And the line went down. Everyone was finishing the test in such a short time that Yuki was awed by his classmates. Growing up in the Todoroki house he always thought that others weren't as good as them but that didn't mean he felt superior to them, Yuki even thinks that it's only Shoto who feels superior to anyone.
"5.73" Rika was the last one to finish.
"Nice! Did you see me, Yuki?" Rika posed dramatically while showing off her golden rings that she used as rollerblades.
"W.o.w," Yuki said with a deadpan face.
"Hey at least say it with some spirit!"
As the tests continued he got to see everybody's quirks and how they used them.
In the Grip Strength Test, he saw Misaki Nakagawa use her "Hell Hands" to test out her strength. Getting 523 kilograms. In the third test, Long Jump, he saw Susumu Nishioka float through the course. In the fourth test, he saw how Kazuhiro Horiuchi would glitch side to side as fast as 0.2 seconds. In the fifth test, Kei Nakajima turned her hand into a rocket launcher, put the baseball ball inside, and fired the ball, getting 965 meters. Then they did distance runs, seated toe-touch, and sit-ups. And Yuki got ranked 2 out of 21.
The 1st rank was an elegant guy who controlled glass. Masaaki Moriyama.
"Is he from a rich family?" Yuki whispered to Rika while stealing glances at Masaaki.
"Huh? Oh—not really but he was one of the best violinists in my middle school." Rika said.
"Wait, you attended the same middle school?" Rika was shocked, not expecting to see two classmates who knew each other before coming to the same school.
"Well, we did go to an Arts & Performance school."
Before they could continue their conversation, Thirteen interrupted.
"Alright! Everyone did so well so the class is dismissed for today! But, remember that tomorrow you get to try on your hero costumes, so look forward to it!" Thirteen dismissed the class and everyone happily went on about their day.
Yuki had also made some other friends like the guy with the glass quirk and a girl who is obsessed with fashion. He was so excited that he kept on stumbling on his words nervously, he felt so embarrassed that his whole face turn into a bright shade of red, according to Rika. Later on, they said their goodbyes, and Yuki went to wait in front of class 1-A.
At first, nobody came out but soon after they started to rush out. Yuki awkwardly stood and bowed to them as they would glance at him when suddenly one of the kids stop.
"Oh, are you related to Todoroki?" a boy with black hair said. Yuki examined him and saw that he had something weird in his elbows.
"Y-yeah. I'm Todoroki Yuki, nice to meet you." thanks to those three kids in his classroom who became his friends he was able to have the courage to talk to others, though awkwardly.
The black-haired kid gasped and wowed loudly.
"Really? I didn't know he had siblings and he doesn't really seem approachable. And by the way, I'm Sero. Hanta Sero. You can just call me Sero though. Are you from class 1-B?" Sero asked.
"No, I'm actually from the newly added class," Yuki explained.
"Oh, class 1-C. I guess they had a lot of students who really wanted to attend this school or they were a lot of good applicants this year. Well, would you like to hang out sometime? I don't really know anyone here that much and I don't want to be alone all the time, hahaha…" Seto awkwardly scratched the back of his head.
"No worries! I would love to have more friends…Do I give you my phone number?" Yuki took out a sticky note and wrote his number, giving it to Seto.
"You can call me anytime a—"
"What are you doing, Yuki?" Shoto placed himself in the middle of Seto and Yuki, startling both of them.
"Umm, I was just introducing myself to your classmate. See you later, Seto!" Yuki enthusiastically waved goodbye to Seto, trying to get the poor kid who looked scared of Shoto out of the situation. Seto quickly understood and waved, turning back and mouthing a 'thank you' before running off.
"Nothing happened on the assessment today, right?" Shoto asked as they walked.
"Nope, it went pretty smoothly and it was kind of fun seeing how everyone else used their Quirks. How about you?" Yuki took out caramel candy and hand it out to Shoto, who gently rejected it.
"Our homeroom teacher told us that he would expel the last place but apparently that was just a lie to make us do our best. So everyone was on guard." Shoto explained to Yuki about that situation in their class and how the homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa, had erased a kid's quirk.

"Hmm…I feel bad for him, it seems like the has a bone to pick with him or something." Yuki sighed.
