The pilot, Shnemo, and the girl, Kasha, advanced to the wall, and when they reached it, the girl put her hand in the crevice with her face against the wall.
As for the pilot, he placed a set of pillows, climbed a little, and looked at the crack in the wall while holding it with his hand, pressing his ear against it, and peering from afar. He said to the girl, "Darkness, do you hear anything?"
Kasha: "I feel my legs shaking because the sound is coming."
The sounds coming from the red cloud that her sister Akemi was riding were the same sounds the girl was talking about, as it passed through the crater of the mountain, then through the tunnels, and finally reached the crevice of the wall, where she heard the conversation that was taking place between her sister and the red cloud.
The pilot was also listening to that voice and the dialogue that took place with the girl and the red cloud, and he was terrified by the screams of those voices. He heard the sound of falling planes and bombs, as if there was a war going on, and he heard talk about cluster and nuclear bombs.
He stepped back, grabbed the girl Kasha, and told her to move away. The girl could not hear him; she was just crying and shouting, "Sister, the war did not start with us, we are alive!"
The pilot pulled the girl hard and told her, "Be careful, there are cluster bombs coming towards us, even the nuclear bomb that I heard was going to be dropped. Those bombs will come out of the tunnels. Let's get out, or we'll all perish."
Kasha: "Aren't you done hearing their voices? Didn't you hear that my sister was talking to someone else? His name is the Red Cloud, and he says that my sister lives in another time, in another century."
Pilot: "We didn't hear that sound. Perhaps the sounds of planes confused me and kept me from hearing that phrase. So we are in a better world than that."
The girl laughed and told him, "But at a better time than that."
