Chapter 16 - Appendix

Just in case someone starts reading this and isn't familiar with some of the people, places, or technology mentioned, here is some help.

People/Groups:

Fire Bomber - The main band from the Macross 7 series. The members are Basara Nekki (Guitar and lead vocals), Mylene Flare Jenius (Bass and back vocals), Ray Lovelock (Keytar), and Veffidas Feaze (Drums). For more information: https://macross.fandom.com/wiki/Fire_Bomber

Basara Nekki - Lead vocalist and guitarist for Fire Bomber from the Macross 7 series. He is a true pacifist who wants both sides to stop fighting peacefully rather than enforce peace through military dominance. Easily my favorite male character from the series. For more information: https://macross.fandom.com/wiki/Basara_Nekki

Sheryl Nome - Also known as the Galactic Fairy. She is one of the main characters and vocalists from the Macross Frontier series. She is also my favorite female character out of all of the series. For more information: https://macross.fandom.com/wiki/Sheryl_Nome

N.U.N.S. - New United Nations Spacy, it is the military branch of the New United Nations Government. The New United Nations Government was founded several decades after the original United Nations Government due to a much-needed restructuring following the population explosion of humans as they extended throughout the galaxy. The original United Nations Government was founded after the discovery of a crashed Supervision Army ship on Earth. Too much history to go into here, but just think of it as the United Nations, except everyone joins (eventually).

Protoculture - The first sentient humanoid race to inhabit this universe about a million years ago and the first advanced humanoid civilization about 500,000 years ago. They are credited with having created most of the alien races within the current universe. Way to much to dive into here, but here is more information if you want it: https://macross.fandom.com/wiki/Protoculture

Technology:

Variable Fighter - A type of transforming mecha developed in the Super Dimension Fortress Macross television series. They are used across all timelines of Macross. The fighters are all capable of transforming into an aircraft, fighter mode, and a humanoid robot, Battroid mode. Most of them can also transform into an intermediate mode called GERWALK. GERWALK is fighter mode with the arms and legs of battroid mode. More info here: https://macross.fandom.com/wiki/Variable_Fighter

VF-171 Nightmare Plus - A mass-production version of the VF-17 Nightmare. It is the main variable fighter from Macross Frontier. I chose it because it is the last mass-production model mentioned in the series used by N.U.N.S. I also usually leave the "Plus" out of it because it sounds weird in my head. More info here: https://macross.fandom.com/wiki/VF-171_Nightmare_Plus

VF-25 Messiah - A potential successor to the VF-171 Nightmare Plus, it is never stated if it succeeds the VF-171. It is a superior model that can fill just about any role but requires different optional packages depending on the said role. The VF-25 is the primary variable fighter in the television series Macross Frontier. More info: https://macross.fandom.com/wiki/VF-25F_Messiah

Others:

QM-69 - This is considered an extremely physically demanding maneuver for pilots that involves a lot of repetitive high-speed rolling while accelerating. Pilots considered it a wall they had to surpass to become aces. Why did they call it QM-69? I have no idea. It's only briefly mentioned in episode 30 of Macross 7.

Spiritia - Introduced in the Macross 7 TV series, it is an energy generated by all living things. This includes plants, animals, humans, Zentradi, and presumably all other races. Anima Spiritia is the purest form of Spiritia and is too pure to be absorbed by Protodeviln. Anima Spiritia is also used to help living creatures regenerate their own Spiritia (Usually through music).
