The two on the racetrack had no idea what was happening off the course.
Jasper Rockwell was still gleefully pestering Zane Langdon, but a strange feeling stirred in Zane's heart.
'Jasper isn't doing this for Melody Monroe, so that means...'
He immediately banished the thought.
'Impossible! It absolutely can't be what I'm thinking!'
The race resumed. Zane Langdon pulled on his helmet, completely blocking Jasper Rockwell's gaze.
Jasper Rockwell grabbed his helmet and walked over to his car.
'Zane Langdon is so petty, isn't he? It's just a medal. He won't even let me have it!'
'Today, I'll win this medal with my own skill!'
Another wave of cheers erupted from the stands.
