They were getting a little too close. Unaccustomed to it, Melody Monroe stood up, moved to a seat to the side, and put some distance between them.
Watching Melody Monroe's move, Silas Rockwell felt like a complete fool. He had never been given the cold shoulder like this before. Awkwardly, he sat up straight and turned his gaze to the racetrack.
'Why isn't Shawn Fisher out here yet? It's so awkward doing this one-man show by myself.'
"Do you have someone you like, Miss Monroe?" Silas Rockwell asked again.
Melody Monroe: ...
'That doesn't really have anything to do with Master Rockwell, does it?'
'Even Jasper Rockwell doesn't seem to know much about my relationship with Evan Fairchild, so this Master Rockwell must know even less. Hitting on me like this... he can't actually be interested, can he?'
The polite smile on Melody Monroe's face vanished, replaced by a cool distance.
"That's a personal matter I'm not comfortable discussing."
Silas Rockwell suddenly smiled.
