Evan Fairchild walked into the living room, sat on the sofa, and made a phone call.
Two minutes later, his phone rang again.
Evan Fairchild intentionally put the call on speaker. Melody Monroe listened to the report on the phone—it was an exact, word-for-word account of what had happened that afternoon!
After hanging up, Evan Fairchild looked at Melody Monroe. "This is what you call 'handled'?"
"I..." Melody Monroe stood before him like a child who had done something wrong.
"Why didn't you come back? Ian Monroe and I were both waiting for you. Was it because you didn't want him to see you like this? But why didn't you contact me?" Evan Fairchild's tone was tinged with anger again.
'This woman is trying to drive me insane!'
Before Melody Monroe could say a word, Evan Fairchild's voice rang out again. "You're terminating your contract with Stellaris tomorrow!"
