「The next day.」
An alarm clock woke Melody Monroe.
The moment she saw the time, she shot up in bed.
Her shoot for the day wasn't scheduled to start that early, but she had set her alarm for seven o'clock anyway. Work had kept her so busy that she hadn't been able to call Ian for three days!
Today was the weekend, so Ian didn't have school. He should be up by now.
She decided against calling Ian's phone watch, opting to video call the nanny directly instead. She missed him so much; she couldn't wait to see his face.
After getting up and having a little breakfast, Ian Monroe started working on his building blocks.
The nanny's heart ached for him when she saw the entire table covered in building blocks.
"Miss Monroe can be so unreasonable, buying such a complicated set of blocks. Ian, why don't you take a break? You've been working on this for a whole week."
"Mom bought these blocks for me. That's between her and me," Ian Monroe said, glancing up at the nanny.
