Axel Elmes, a Seventeen years old teenager, the fourth child in a family of five. His siblings included Valerie Elmes the youngest child of the family, Cory Elmes the third child of the family, Dennis Elmes the second child of the family, and lastly Beatrice Elmes the first child of the family.
Of all of them Axel is adopted, because the Elmes wanted a fourth child before then weeks later she conceived Valerie initially he never another child but the birth of Valerie changed his mind.
Once they found out that Axel was adopted, Cory, Dennis and Beatrice shunned him. On the other hand Valerie did not care about it and the rest of their siblings did not like it one bit.
Their close sibling relationship was not the only thing that worried them but also the fact that in addition to that Axel was deemed to be their favourite since he was brilliant, they felt that they were payed less attention to them, saying that he was study in father's field of oceanology.
In a devious plan thought of by Dennis and Cory, they would use his love for the Sea to rid themselves of him. After all, as much as the Sea along with it's numerous creatures was beautiful, calming and inviting, it was also turbulent and dangerous, known for leading many people to horrifying deaths. In other words, what he loved would become the death of him, his eternal tomb.
How he ended up in the Kingdom of Isstrid, he did not have any idea at all, all he could remember was being called to the sighting of a strange sea creature. His father told him to take his siblings leaving Valerie at home seeing that she was still young and thus her safety was important at least until she was old enough to take care of herself.
From the suction marks on the fishing trawler, he could see they were dealing with a giant squid. These creatures were rarely seen by human beings believed simply to be fantastic creatures of myths and legends that dwelled in the deepest of the Sea as told in folktales.
If one of these magical creatures was here in the human world, then it meant that an external force had brought it here, probably a Siren who had gained control over it using her enchanted voice then sent it to wreck havoc in the human world.
The Kingdom Of Isstrid
The Kingdom of Isstrid bordered the human world, the only places where magic existed. The Kingdom of Isstrid also known as the Kingdom of elves. Where magical beings lived, it has been hidden from the human world for a very long time. Mortals cannot survive because the atmosphere kills them slowly due to the heavy magic that surrounds it.
The same goes for other magical species such as Fairies, Orcs, Dragons, Mermaids and Tritons etc. Each species had their own Kingdoms.
