After finishing the fruit, the two sprang into action.
Bai Xi lightly drew a circle on the stone door, and a halo of light the size of two fingers appeared before their eyes. She could now freely control the size of her folded spatial voids. Creating a spatial aperture this small was completely effortless for her.
Pouting slightly, Bai Xi squeezed one eye shut and leaned in to observe the activity outside through the hole. "Huh! Why is it so pitch-black outside? Isn't the ancestral hall usually lit up at night?"
"This hidden chamber is underground," Ye Xiao reminded her.
After a second of silence, Bai Xi laughed. "Right! I forgot. Captain, wait for me."
With that, she vanished from her spot, and the heavy door to the hidden chamber swung open immediately after. Oil lamps illuminated the dark secret passageway. Outside the chamber lay a set of dimly lit stairs leading upward. The two followed the steps and emerged from the passage.
