Chapter 169 - Your Legacy

Emiya stared at the things that Haru could exchange for points that don't physically or mentally harm her well-being and honestly he wasn't surprised at all.

[ Loveable Idiot - This ability gives a unique charm that only pure, cute and charismatic combined into a single category is capable of, no matter how stupid or idiotic your actions are, people wouldn't get angry at you as it is within their expectations for you to do this. This is an accumulation of skill, reputation and innate talent combined. ]

(Exchange rate - 20 Points)

Emiya had the feeling that this girl was exactly this type of person, then to the other one that she could exchange.

[ The Idol Of Losers - Everyone expects you to lose, it is no surprise. No one expects you to win, but regardless of your constant loses, your will to never give up inspired a lot of people, your struggle is their light, despite inevitably knowing the outcome you still have the will to continue with a bright smile. ]

(Exchange rate - 30 points ]

As he read this particular title, he couldn't help but feel complicated and made him think about his past. It has similarities with his idiotic younger-self.

But in the end, it was just similarities and he knows that his recklessness was self-inflected.

"You can exchange these for points." He pointed at the screen, which Haru didn't read at all and trusted him unconditionally.

She didn't even hesitate to exchange these titles for points, it made his eyes twitch.

"You're way too trusting, doubt me a little." He let out a long sigh.

"Why?" Haru stared at him with her pure innocent eyes.

"You- sigh* nevermind.." He really can't deal with these types of people.

Then he showed her what she could get with her 50 points, that allows her to achieve her wish of winning a race.

He might not know much about her world, however from the bits of what he heard from Haru, it seems that in her world a sport called 'Uma Racing' is the most popular and most watched sport in their world.

And Haru is an athlete of that sport, but she was so bad at it that she loses every time.

That's why she wanted to win, and experience what it's like to be the champion of a race.

Now the shop catalog shows her hundreds of skills and abilities that could make her win any race and most of them are less than 10 points.

Emiya could never understand this unbalanced exchange, everytime he looks at the prices of the things in the shop catalog.

He couldn't help but feel really bitter, if only he had them back when he was younger, he might achieve his borrowed dream of becoming a champion of justice.

Things here are extremely cheap, if he didn't know any better he might have thought this place isn't called 'The Shop' but rather a 'Wish Fulfillment Building' because the prices don't make sense.

Some are ridiculously overpriced, and some are very cheap, same ability, same function, the only difference is the name of the said skill or item.

He had a feeling that if he really looked hard enough in the shop catalog, there's a chance he would become a god with less than 10 points.

Anyway, it's not his problem and refused to think any further, those are his boss' problems not his.

Haru Urara wasn't sure what to choose because she was getting dizzy at the sheer amount of things in the catalog leaving in indecisive.

[ Dirt Queen - You are a monarch in dirt races, the ground will make its way for you, running will feel like flying and you are almost unbeatable if there's no unexpected events in any sort of dirt racing. ]

( Price - 15 Points )

[ Evil Inside - You will unleash your inner demon once you're in a race, you will mock your opponents, play with them and lower their self-esteem before finally leaving them with this skill your performance in any race will increase exponentially. ]

( Price - 30 )

[ Your Legacy - You will inherit all of your parallel world self, skills, talents and of their memories. This skill will automatically pick the best counterpart version of you, guaranteed to make you the very best in any type of race. Warning: There might be a hidden risk after obtaining this skill. ]

( Price - 50 )

"Hmmm….! I can't choose at all! There's so many of them! Oh well, I'll pick this one to guess!" Haru didn't even read the description of skill and bought [ Your Legacy ] because it was the closest one from her fingers.

After buying it, a surge of memories completely unfamiliar to her appeared in her mind.

Life is different from hers, but with the same face.

It was short, but she remembered some of the memories and couldn't help but exclaim. "Wooow! She never lost once in her life?! That's umazing!"

Then a soft familiar voice whispered into her ears.

'Heh..? This is a version of me that always loses? How interesting, to think, I out of all people lose? What a surprise. This feeling of being a loser is quite interesting, but Haru Urara from now on, you will never experience what it's like to lose again. I, the Uma Musume that surpassed the likes of Eclipse and Secretariat, ascended to a legend no one has ever reached. Promise you that you will be the very best.'

"Eh? Did someone talk to me?" Haru looks around confused as to where that voice came from.

'Hmph, it's way too early for you to fully hear me, very well I shall wait for the day I can completely communicate with you, but beware that I will always be here, watching.'

Haru had a feeling that someone was talking to her, but couldn't pinpoint where it was.

Regardless, she was very excited to test the skill she just acquired, she wanted to run right now. With so many ideas of how to properly run right now, she could hardly wait for it.

"Thank you so much for helping me Mr!" Haru beamed at the man who helped her.

"Nothing, it's my job." If you pay attention you would see that there's a slight smile on his face.

But Haru wasn't paying attention, and couldn't wait to try her new skills.

But before she could leave, Emiya stopped her and said. "Wait, take this card with you, or else you won't be able to come back here again."

Haru smiles at him and takes the bronze card that automatically printed her I.D upon touching it.

"I will be back later!"

Then she went to the door, opened it and left.

Haru was now back at where she was supposed to be, the door of her room.

And finally she remembered something. "Ahhh! I forgot to ask Mr. White Hair for his name!"

Little did she know, while she was at the shop. She had no idea how much commotion her disappearance had caused.

While she stayed in the shop for less than an hour, in her world she was missing for a few days now.

Making her roommate, friends at the school authorities scrambling to find where she is.
