Next was the awaited fight between Sakura and Ino. These two had been after Sasuke for such a long time that they had cultured some sort of rivalry between themselves. Sakura still had her hair long so she hadn't experienced the near death experience with Orochimaru. But that didn't diminish the fire these two had against each other.
It started with love for Sasuke but now it was just rivalry. Both of them fought neck to neck, at the end it ended up with a draw and that too both of them fainted at the end. Naruto cheered for Sakura all to the end, and even Sasuke cheered a bit since she was his teammate. But the result was set in stone.
"You have nurtured quite a good student Asuma-san." Aoto said after watching the fight. This made Asuma a bit embarrassed. He was both proud and shy of it. Next battle was between Tenten and Temari, and this went as expected.
Temari was too good for Temari and thus she lost in the end. Tenten based her entire fighting strategy with weapons and maybe if she had guns and missiles, it would have been a different ball game for Temari, but at the moment Tenten was not going to win. Aoto had been thinking of introducing guns, but it should be done in a constrained manner.
After this fight it was time for Shikamaru and he too at the end was able to win. It was his wits against the opponent. How could the opponent get a chance.
"Who do you think has a high chance of being a chunin?" Kurenai asked randomly while seeing the battles.
"Sasuke has a good chance."
"I say Neji and Lee." Guy didn't hesitate to sing his own song and felt his rivalry with Kakashi could be settled here.
"I will say Torune for sure. The way he handled was very elegant." Kurenai said.
"What do you think Aoto?" Kurenai asked. She could see there that were a huge connection of Aoto with the rest of genins. Somehow Aoto had touched the lives of everyone present and that was wild.
"I don't know about others. But Shiikamaru would definitely be a chunin." Aoto said. This made everyone silent. They had overlooked Shikamaru because of his laziness but the way he handled the battle with the limited chakra he had, it was mind blowing.
For a moment all of them had forgotten that being a chunin didn't mean that he or she would have to win. A loser could also be a chunin, while the winner would fail. It depended upon the actions of the genin, and not the results. Everyone agreed that Shikamaru would definitely be a chunin, and the rest would have to wait and see.
The next fight was between Naruto and Kiba. The proctor for the fight was Unohana, and her presence gave Akamaru a chill that made him hide behind Kiba.
"What is wrong with you." Kiba was confused as he was sure that Unohana was a medic ninja and thus an animal being afraid of her meant that she should be terrible, but she was one of the nicest doctors he had met before.
"Both of you stand 5 feet apart." Unohana said.
"Ah Unohana-san can you give me leeway in this fight?" Naruto being the naughty kid that he was asked. Unohana looked deeply into Naruto.
"I can but then you will have to learn sword wielding with me." Unohana replied. This made Naruto almost pee his pants. He had once fought against Unohana in the arena fights that was conducted once in two months to see the progress and the way he was beaten wasn't something he would forget.
"I.. I am alright.. I don't need any favors.. Hehehe.." Naruto declined. This rubbed Kiba the wrong way, where he shouted.
"Oye Naruto.. This is cheating.. "
"What cheating. Didn't you see she just declined. Shut up if you can't understand my language."
"The battle begins."
"Akamaru, let's go!" Kiba immediately sprang into action. Akamaru barked in response, leaping onto Kiba's back as they began their assault. Meanwhile Naruto summoned shield in his hands.
"This thing again." Kiba was surprised seeing the same kind of shield he had seen with Torune and this made him vigilant. He had seen how Torune brought down a powerful genin easily with these powers and thus he would have to be careful.
Kiba's initial attack struck the shield, deflecting harmlessly off its surface. Kiba growled in frustration. "Fine, let's see how you handle this! Dynamic Marking!" Akamaru leapt into the air, urinating on Naruto to mark him with their scent. The duo's movements became a blur as they coordinated their attack, relying on the scent to track Naruto.
Naruto was disgusted with what had happened and he was beyond pissed at it.
"You think that's going to work? Try this on for size! Eldritch Chains!" With a wave of his hand, glowing, ethereal chains erupted from the ground, snaking towards Kiba and Akamaru. The chains wrapped around them, momentarily halting their movements.
"What the hell is this. Shit.. I can't get out. Akamaru.." Kiba shouted but Akamru could only growl at best at the moment.
"Bolts of Balthakk!" He thrust his hands forward, and crackling bolts of mystical energy shot towards Kiba. Kiba managed to dodge the first few, but one struck Akamaru, sending the dog tumbling.
Kiba was enraged.
"Beast Human Clone!"
Akamaru turned into a perfect replica of Kiba. "Fang Over Fang!" The two Kiba's spun rapidly, launching themselves at Naruto with immense speed and power. Naruto knew that he wouldn't be able to keep up with the speed.
"No more games. Winds of Watoomb!" A powerful gust of enchanted wind erupted from Naruto, slowing the spinning Kiba and Akamaru. This halted their attack and though the power wasn't enough to throw the duo but it was an attack that stopped them for sure.
"Now let's finish this!" Naruto said.
