Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Magic training 2

Josh nodded and got to work.

Cecile moved a few meters away, and sat on the floor, staring at her spell scroll.

Josh pictured the magic circle of the spell "fireball" in his head. A ball of fire shot out from Josh's hand, at hit the dummy square on the chest.

To Josh's surprise, the fireball did no damage to the dummy. Seeing this, Josh prepared to hurl another spell at the dummy. He pictured the magic circle of the third skill " Fire fist" in his head.

Josh's fist immediately became engulfed in flames. Anyone looking would think that his fist was set on fire, but a closer observer would see that his hand was not being burnt by the flames.

Josh approached the training dummy and punched it hard in the chest. The training dummy did not flinch neither did it get burnt. It just stood there, as if daring him to give it all he's got.

"I can't wait for the day I destroy this dummy." Josh tightened his fist.

"You'll need to be able to use tier-four spells for that to happen." Cecile chuckled.

"Oh well." Josh sighed.

Josh continued bombarding the dummy with his magic spells for two more hours. During this time, he received several notifications from the system, notifying him of his progress.

The current level of proficiency of his magic spells is.

[Fire torch(level 6/10): 3 mana points]

[Fireball(level 6/10): 4 mana points]

[Fire fist(level 6/10): 3 mana points]

'The amount of mana to cast each spell really reduced drastically.' Josh thought, pleased by the results of his training. At this rate, he would soon need just one mana point to cast each spell.

"That's enough," Cecile said, storing her scroll in her spatial ring.

Josh who was about to launch a fireball at the dummy halted.

"Give me that." Cecile stretched her hand to take the ring from Josh.

Josh took off the ring and handed it to Cecile.

"Now, let's see how many spells you can cast with your current mana reserves," Cecile instructed.

Josh nodded. He began casting all the magic spells he had learnt at the dummy without pausing.

[Mana: 0/25]

Josh's mana point had hit a rock bottom.

"I'm wasted," Josh informed Cecile, panting heavily.

"H-how are you casting spells so fast!" Cecile screamed with a gobsmacked expression on her face.

"I don't know." Josh shrugged.

He was naturally unaware that his casting speed had gone beyond what could be considered "normal", even the word "unusual" was not enough to explain how a kid who just started learning magic, had in two short hours attained such a fast casting speed.

"And you're even using less mana." Cecile sighed.

Cecile could naturally tell the difference between a fireball cast by a newbie and a fireball cast by someone who had been using the spell continuously.

This disciple of her's never ceased to be amazing.

"I noticed too." Josh nodded.

"Here, recover your mana." Cecile handed the mana regeneration ring to Josh.

"Thanks a lot." Josh's expression lit up.

As he put on the ring, In three short seconds he recovered all of his mana.

'I really need a ring like this one.' Josh thought.

"Here." Josh handed the ring to Cecile.

"Well, I think we've done enough for the day, you'd better go home and rest for tomorrow," Cecile said.

"What are we going to be doing tomorrow?" Josh asked curiously.

"You're going to learn tier-two fire magic skills and practice your sword techniques," Cecile replied.

"Cool." Josh nodded, looking forward to learning sword techniques.

"In the next two training sessions, we are going to be doing something drastically different," Cecile informed.

"What?" Josh asked surprised.

"We're going into the forest to hunt beasts," Cecile announced sarcastically.

"We are?" Josh asked excitedly.

How could he not be excited? He would be hunting powerful and terrifying beasts. This would also mark the true beginning of his journey.

"You are, actually." Cecile chuckled.

"What do you mean?" Josh asked with raised eyebrows.

"I'm only going to step in, when we encounter a beast I know you are incapable of beating. And also when your life is in danger." Cecile explained.

"Understandable." Josh nodded in understanding, "What are you going to be doing while I hunt beasts though?" Josh asked curiously.

Surely she would not be trying to learn that spell? That would even be unwise as you never know what you'll run into in a forest. A beast could suddenly attack her from behind while she was focused on reading her scroll.

"I'll grab my popcorn and watch you." Cecile chuckled, "I bet you'll look really hot while fighting those ugly monsters." Cecile licked her lips seductively.

"...."

"What did you think I would be doing silly disciple?" Cecile chuckled, "I have to be in total concentration even though the forest you are going to enter is a rank E one and I have no concerns for my safety. You in stark contrast, have everything to worry about, and it's my duty as your master to protect you.

"Besides if I see you're on the losing end of a fight, I'll give you some pointers in exchange for a few favours." Cecile pressed her huge bosoms together while looking at Josh suggestively.

"I'll take that offer." Josh grinned, "I look forward to doing you a few favours. Like they say 'you scratch my back and I scratch yours'."

"It seems you're finally getting out of your shell." Cecile jumped on the spot excitedly, "that means I'm going to get you in my bed really soon."

Josh didn't know whether to laugh or cry at his master's antics.

'I think I'm gradually growing a soft spot for her.' Josh thought.

How could he not suddenly grow a soft spot for her? Which man with a working sword would look at Cecile and his primal instincts wouldn't kick in? The only edge Josh had over other men was that he seemed immune to the charms of women.

The soft spot he had grown for Cecile was that of a close female friend with a flirty nature.

"Here." Cecile threw two scrolls at Josh.

"These are the sword techniques?" Josh asked.

"Yes they are." Cecile nodded.

"Thanks. Well, I better get going," Josh said.

"Going to meet Sophia Thompson?" Cecile teased.

"Yeah." Josh nodded.

He didn't think too much about how she got to know about his relationship with Sophia.

"Just make sure she doesn't completely drain you, I want to have a taste too." Cecile pouted cutely.

"Of course," Josh said, taking her hand.

They appeared in the infirmary, startling a woman dressed in white robes who was inside it.

"Did anyone come in?" Cecile asked the woman.

"No." The woman replied.

Cecile nodded and turned to Josh, "go have fun."

"See you tomorrow," Josh said, slamming the door behind him.

'Perhaps I should pay Sophia a visit.' Josh thought.

He sent her a text message which read, "hey, are you free? I wanted to come to visit."

Josh waited for her reply while walking home. A few seconds later, Josh received a notification on his watch.

Sophia had replied to him, and her reply read, "I'm free, you can come to visit. My house is at..."

"I'll be there in like an hour." Josh sent his reply.

"I'll be expecting you." Sophia texted.

"Put on something sexy for me will you?" Josh texted.

"Sure." Sophia texted back.

"I'll look forward to seeing it." Josh texted and focused on getting home.

Josh got into his room and proceeded to take his bath. He put on his spare uniform and set out for Sophia's.

"I'm feeling a bit hungry though." Josh muttered to himself, "there should be a cafeteria right? Cause' my account is pitifully dry." Josh sighed, staring at his account balance.

His account balance read 0 credits. The world's currency was called credits. This was a currency used by humans, vampires, elves, giants and werewolves.

Josh walked for a few minutes and finally got in front of a small blue-coloured house.

"This should be it," Josh muttered to himself.

Josh approached the front door, rang the doorbell and waited.

The door opened revealing a beautiful girl dressed in red robes that exposed her tanned thighs, long athletic legs, and exposed ample amount of bosoms.

"You look amazing." Josh blurted out honestly.

Sophia blushed and said, "come in."

Sophia turned around and walked into the living room.

"It seems you're trying to seduce me." Josh smiled, staring at Sophia's huge butt.

"Is it working?" Sophia chuckled.

"Maybe." Josh shrugged.

"Did you make lunch?" Josh asked, feeling famished.

"You're hungry?" Sophia asked.

"I might die if I don't chew on something in the next thirty minutes," Josh said, rubbing his stomach.

Sophia chuckled, "I'm serious though."

"You're looking pretty delicious right now," Josh said, checking Sophia out.

"Oh really?" Sophia grinned.

"Yeah, you look good to eat," Josh replied, "I need food really, I'm starving."

"Alright, I made lunch." Sophia said.

"really? thank the heavens. I bet your food will be just as delicious as you are."
