William stopped his attacks, looked towards the Hybrid as if he were eyeing a precious treasure that had been snatched by a fierce enemy.
"It looks like… I'm still too weak to fight… Humans like you…"
The Hybrid talked, totally shocking William. He had never heard of this before. Hybrids couldn't speak, up to his knowledge.
"What are you?" William instantly barked. But the Hybrid felt more uneasy the more he looked at William and recalled how the battle had unfolded in the past few minutes.
At one point, it felt instant fear controlling its body, and then it fled the scene without even looking back once.
"One day… One day I'll come back… And I'll be strong enough… To kill you…"
William stood in the middle of his protective arrays, looking at the fleeting back of the Hybrid monster. For a moment there, he grew tempted to stalk that creature and uncover more about it. And yet, he didn't.
