"How are they going to test the efficacy of the antidote meals?" A spectator wondered, looking at the stage with expectant eyes.
"I have never heard of a weapon that can test an antidote." Another said.
"I saw this kind of test in the last food festival." A female cultivator said and began explaining.
"The Food Association prepared volunteers." She started.
"The competitors drew lots to choose volunteers and when their turn came, the volunteers swallowed poison and then ate the antidote meal."
"Isn't that too dangerous?" Someone asked and quickly continued.
"What if the antidote meal doesn't work?"
"Each of the volunteers will be given an antidote pill to ensure that nothing goes wrong."
The spectators were right!
After the cooking stage ended, the host brought twenty volunteers to the stage.
"You need to draw lots to choose your antidote tester." She said.
Drawing lots was a straightforward exercise.
