Chapter 231 - The plan {139}

Gifu's laughter echoed across the battlefield, filled with twisted joy and dark satisfaction. This—this—was the kind of fight he had been craving. The chaos, the destruction, the sheer, raw power coursing through the air—it was intoxicating.

As he warped space around them, bending reality with ease, Yami matched his moves with unnerving precision, adapting to every twist and turn, pouring out an absurd amount of energy that made Gifu pause, even in the midst of their fight.

The more Gifu unleashed his power, the more Yami responded in kind, upping the stakes with every clash. Their blows shook the very fabric of reality, sending shockwaves rippling through the atmosphere. But there was something off—something wrong. Gifu couldn't help but notice it.

Yami wasn't just strong—he was too strong. Sure, demons could tap into vast reserves of energy, and beings like Yami, who thrived off destruction, were naturally dangerous. But Yami was beyond dangerous. He was outputting power that rivaled the greatest beings in the multiverse, the kinds of entities that only resided in the higher realms—not the lower realms, where humans and their weak, fragile lives existed.

Even as they fought, exchanging brutal blows, Gifu's mind raced. Where is he getting all this power?

Yami was a demon born from a human's negative emotions, a creature that should have limits. In the grand scheme of the multiverse, demons of that type were strong, sure—but nothing compared to beings of Gifu's caliber, beings made of corrupted energy that ruled with their cosmic might.

Apart from those infuriatingly powerful Celestials, there wasn't anyone in the macrocosm who could challenge Gifu on this level.

Yet Yami was not just challenging him—he was matching him, blow for blow, laugh for laugh. Every time Gifu tried to overwhelm him, Yami would adapt, tap into even more power, and fight back with a relentless hunger for more. It was as though Yami was drawing from a well of energy that had no bottom, an infinite source that should not exist for a being born in such a low realm.

Gifu's mind continued to whirl as they fought. 'Where the fuck is this coming from?' he thought, his smile fading for a moment as he studied Yami more closely.

"This much energy should be impossible," Gifu muttered under his breath as they collided again, the impact sending out another cataclysmic shockwave. "Not from a being of the lower realms. No...this kind of power...you should be nowhere near this level!"

Yami, sensing Gifu's curiosity, only grinned wider, his red, predatory eyes glinting with manic glee. "What's the matter, beast?" he growled, his voice dripping with sadistic amusement. "Can't handle a little surprise?"

Gifu snarled, his mind racing even faster. Yami was no ordinary demon—there was something more to him, something deeper that Gifu couldn't yet understand.

Was it the anomaly? Was the human the source? But that didn't explain it either. Was it the anomaly, though he was strong, he was still a human, still weak in the eyes of the multiverse.

How could a demon born from a human be this limitless?

"Impossible..." Gifu muttered as his eyes narrowed. It felt like Yami had tapped into a power source that should have been off-limits, something boundless.

But even amidst his confusion, Gifu's excitement only grew. Whatever the source of Yami's power, it didn't matter at this moment. He wanted more.

He was growing more curious by the second, Yami's unending power was coming from somewhere.

He just didnt know where that source was, the demon was being boosted by something....without the buff the demon would still be able to overtake a planet, however, he shouldn't have such reality-busting power.

And even if he did have access to them, he wouldn't be able to spam them like he was doing now.

Yami was weird, he was a demon, but even amongst inner demons, he was an anomaly, which was probably a grant considering his human was the anomaly himself.

As Yami slapped Gifu away, the demon looked at his hand, Gifu had wrapped space all around his hand causing his hand to be utterly destroyed.

"Aw, Shucks...that going to leave a mark," The demon said with a bored expression, he then shook his hand before his hand was now fully healed.

He was ready to beat down the weakened illusionist once more but his body shook....fuck, Aaron was coming back.

His time was pretty close to being done, Yami was annoyed by this.

There was still so much more carnage that he could have unleashed onto the world but he was unable to do as such because his human was getting up.

That was boring.

Yami looked at Gifu in the air, the beast looked heavily injured, his regeneration being so slow now that Yami could see Gifu's body slowly trying to itself.

It was clear that the Olteca body couldn't take much more power, The Olteca body was breaking down, and unless Gifu could find some vessels that had demon genes, he was cooked.

The beast then tried and call upon his very dna, trying to locate where they were, he was going to use that Sakura girl as his host, she had enough hate in her heart for that.

Yami however chuckled once Gifu realised he couldn't sense them.

"Hahahaha, you should see your face when you realize you couldn't sense them," Yami said laughing his ass out.

Gifu's eyes narrowed, his gaze locking onto Yami. "Why?" the beast demanded, his voice a low, dangerous growl. "What did you do?"

Yami stopped laughing, wiping a tear from his eye before grinning darkly. He straightened up and tilted his head to the side, relishing every moment of this. "Aaron made sure all of them—every single one of your little demon seeds—had enough of that energy in their systems to temporarily turn off their demonic genes." Yami's eyes gleamed with sadistic satisfaction. "To be more precise, he cut off your link to them. They still have access to their power... but you, my dear Gifu, you no longer can sense them or take that power back."

Yami let the words hang in the air, his grin growing wider as Gifu processed what had just been revealed.

But instead of anger, something unexpected happened.

Gifu began to chuckle. His deep, guttural laughter echoed through the battlefield, growing louder with each passing second. Yami raised an eyebrow, slightly taken aback as the beast burst out in full-blown laughter.

"I see," Gifu rumbled, his amusement clear. "I suppose the anomaly gave that human a girlfriend to keep my attention away from the siblings. He knew I'd be watching him closely and used that distraction to give them something... something to make them immune to me."

Gifu's laughter only grew louder, the twisted grin on his face reflecting his sheer amusement at the situation. "Ahhh... brilliant!" he roared, clapping his hands together. "From the very beginning, every move that anomaly made was calculated! From the moment he arrived in this world, every step was part of his plan to trick me! Hahahaha!"

Yami watched, intrigued by Gifu's reaction. He had expected the beast to rage, to lash out in fury—but instead, Gifu was practically praising Aaron's strategy.

"Even that Akaishi brat, revealing the image of the anomaly crash to the world," Gifu mused aloud, his laughter settling into a deep chuckle. "That too was part of the plan. He wanted the world to turn against him, to focus all their anger and fear on him." Gifu paused, his eyes gleaming with admiration.

"That anomaly... he's taking all the blame. Saving them all, and carrying all the blame on his shoulders. Hahaha... what a funny story."

As Yami relinquished control, Aaron's eyes flickered back to their usual yellow, the predatory gleam vanishing. He let out a deep sigh, surveying the battlefield around him. Craters, shattered buildings, and twisted wreckage stretched as far as he could see. Yami's rampage had left the place looking like a warzone.

"So much fucking damage..." Aaron muttered under his breath, shaking his head. The repairs alone would cost a fortune. He didn't have the cash to cover this. "Not like I'm gonna pay for it..." he mumbled to himself, before adding, "Miyuki's already draining me dry—financially and..."

He stopped that thought before it spiraled further, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. Stretching his arms and rolling his shoulders, Aaron let out a low groan, trying to work out the tension in his muscles. His body still ached from Gifu's earlier attack, but Yami had healed most of the physical damage.

As he moved across the rubble, Aaron could feel his eyes on him. Survivors—those who had witnessed the chaos—were staring at him from a distance. Their expressions were etched with fear and uncertainty. They had seen him become a monster moments ago, transforming into a beast no better than Gifu. They didn't know it had been Yami controlling his body, but to them, it didn't matter. Aaron could see it in their eyes—the same fear they had of Gifu was now directed at him.

"They think I'm a monster..." he mutter to himself, feeling a slight twinge in his chest.

But he brushed it off. He had long stopped caring what people thought of him. Monsters, demons—he'd been called worse.

At least he wasn't a diddler.

His attention shifted back to Gifu, who hovered above, still licking his wounds. Aaron's lips curled into a small smirk. He wasn't done with the beast yet. Reaching into his pocket, he pressed a button on a small device strapped to his wrist. Instantly, a powerful barrier materialized around Gifu, locking him inside. The shield forced Gifu to the ground, preventing the beast from taking to the air again.

Aaron stepped forward, cracking his knuckles as he approached the now-grounded Gifu. "Alright, big guy," he muttered under his breath, his voice low and focused. "No more tricks. No more reality-warping bullshit. Just you and me—one-on-one."

Aaron's suit, still glowing faintly from Yami's demonic energy, began to rebuild itself, reshaping his body into a fighting stance. The fear in the eyes of the bystanders didn't faze him. This fight was personal. Gifu had taken too much already, and Aaron wasn't about to let him walk away.

He took a deep breath and settled his gaze on Gifu. It was time to end this, and Aaron was determined to do it with his bare hands.
