Through the curtain of rain, a luxury car was rushing over the streets but all of a sudden it stopped with a rough break.
"What the heck?"
The young woman inside jerked forward due to inertia and barely caught herself from slamming her face on something. She irritably ran her hands through her burgundy hair and cursed.
Someone suddenly came in front of the car. The AI assistant informed and proceeded to describe the person's appearance.
"Hm" the woman tapped her fingers on top of a long exquisite purple cane that rested against her leg.
"What does he say?"
A few beeping sounds came followed by a frantic pleading voice, "Please help me! I beg you! Whoever you are, please help me get out of here. They're after me. Please!"
The woman frowned, "And why should I trust you? You can be a scammer for all I know."
"No, no. I'm an actor. I'm not trying to scam you. Please help me." He begged.
"If so then why are you in the middle of the streets at this hour?"
The young man replied through heavy breaths, "I... I was kidnapped."
Suddenly he started banging on the door and cried with urgency, "Miss, please help me escape. Those people are closing in on me. I beg you!"
The AI assistant confirmed that a group of people were indeed running towards them.
"Open the door Stay," The woman ordered.
There was another set of beeping noises and the car opened its door. The man climbed in on all four and sat down shaking.
"Drive." The car started on her command and zoomed off.
After fidgeting in silence for a while the man asked softly, "Where are we going?"
He expected her to question him but since he got into the car there was only the sound of the engine. She neither spoke nor look at him. Unable to bear the silence any longer, he decided to initiate a conversation. He might have been only thinking about getting away from the kidnappers at the beginning but, as the adrenaline subsided, he began to contemplate if he landed into the fire from the pan.
"I'm going to a hotel." The woman replied.
The man tensed. Memories from an hour ago flashed before his eyes.
Trying to sound calm, he cleared his throat and said, "You can drop me off here."
"If you were going to get caught anyway then what was the point of that farce back then? Do you think those kidnappers will stop their pursuit just by seeing you escape in a car? Or was I correct in assuming you're trying to con me?"
"No I..."
The woman raised her hand, "Try to relax. I have no intention of harming you. If it is of any consolation I'll call for a doctor and the police once we reach."
Even though he was sceptical about her words he decided to wait and see. After all, he could not just jump out of a speeding car on a highway and had to wait for it to stop somewhere. If he felt the slightest bit of suspicious behaviour from her he would make a run for it from this hotel she talked about.
In the meantime the owner of the car took a nap, the young man was chalking out all sorts of ways to escape, just in case.
At a ten-star hotel.
The burgundy haired woman walked out of the car towards the reception area followed by the man she rescued.
Now that they were under bright light, the actor noticed that he was riding in a limited edition car. He immediately started sweating wondering whether he left a scratch, if not a dent, on it when he crashed because he would have to sell an organ to compensate if that were the case. But thankfully, luck was on his side.
After entering the hotel the man finally took a proper look at his saviour (till now). She was dressed in tailor-made white shirt and blue trousers. A blue suit jacket hung over her shoulders as she walked ahead holding an exquisite purple cane in one hand.
'Is she visually impaired?' The man thought.
'But how could someone that rich not afford treatment? Nah, it's probably fashion or something.'
The woman showed the receptionist her reservation slip which appeared in a hologram above her watch.
The receptionist noted down the number and said, "Thank you. I've sent you the access pass."
The woman's watch vibrated, Access pass to room 8o87n, Hotel Won received.
She nodded at the receptionist and followed the directions shown on the pass. Reaching the room, she held the pass before the scanner to open the door.
The woman went ahead and slumped on a single-seat sofa as soon as the door opened. With a tired sigh she crossed her legs and rested her chin atop the cane. Meanwhile, the man was intently trying to guess what she was planning to do with him.
"Are you trying to drill a hole through my face with all that staring?" The woman raised a brow.
"Ahem, Sorry."
"Sit,"
The man sat on a chair in the farthest corner of her room.
"Ah, you're still very much sceptical of my promise, I see."
"You can never be too sure." He mumbled.
"That's true, that's true." The woman smiled politely.
"But you know or in case you do not, the can only be opened by this pass from the inside. So if I wanted to harm you, sitting closer to the door wouldn't help."
The young man jumped from his seat.
"Relax, as I already said I don't bear any malicious intent towards you. I just wanted to make it clear that since you decided to come till here with me then you'll have to trust that I'll help."
The man nodded. Since he did not run away when he had the chance, he might as well just rely on her help. He also did not sense any I'll intent from her so hopefully his gut feelings would not betray him.
After that conversation, another episode of silence followed as the woman leaned back and closed her eyes.
The actor nervously tapped his fingers on his knees thinking, 'Are you for real? That's like the second or third time you went quiet without explaining you plan of action. Am just supposed to sit here forever? Damn, what's the meaning of stalling for time like this! It would have been better to just let me go.'
Ten minutes passed.
'Oh! She's waking up.' The man straightened up thinking they would finally have a proper conversation.
But she just reached for the water bottle.
'The heck? Are you freaking kidding me?'
Finishing her drinking, she got up and slowly walked towards him.
'Huh? What's she trying to do?' He instinctively gripped the edge of his chair from panic.
Seeing her quietly advancing more and more brought back the intense fear he felt after being kidnapped.
'Was I really wrong about her? Did I hand over myself to one monster after escaping from another?' His body stiffened in fear seeing her bend forward.
He was so panic-stricken that he could not even let out a scream. Although it would not have made a difference if he could because the room was sound proofed. But, even if it was not, what were the odds that somebody would hear him and come to help?
'Just as I feared, she's going to...' he closed his eyes shut and turned away hoping to vanish somehow.
