Chapter 98 - Chapter 97

"You wish to acquire more of our power I see." I heard Eridani, my companion part of the Starfarer Mod speak into my soul and I responded mentally. 'Yes. Although the lesser gear won't be that useful, but the abilities you offer are very potent to say the least.' I said that killing bosses would basically give me passive skills I could have up to five of at once.

All I got was a mental hum.

So Bell over the next hour systematically killed all the pre-hard mode bosses as well again and with me having made and having gotten hard mode quality mode weapons from the Wall of Flesh, the prior bosses weren't too much of an issue.

And the Star's Above mod didn't make the previous bosses any harder unlike with Fargo's so we were able to deal with them without issue. It was just a matter of time and patience while using our wings to whittle them down.

-

"These lesser beings aren't much of a challenge to you Jake," Eridani spoke softly and I nodded as I relaxed with Bell and Haruhime leaning into me for a nap after the day's excitement consisting of being abused by Alfia in the name of training and of course the bosses I killed to grab their essence to create Eridani's items she supplied the 'recipes' for.

Though in reality, it was just using the local material and the essence to make the items she had stolen over her many years as some kind of planeswalker.

'Indeed, they are not. And neither are the common monsters of this land worth much compared to the time it takes me to get to the stronger monsters.' I replied mentally and I could feel Eridani's nod as she then spoke again but more seriously.

"Jake, you are a Starfarer now. This world, this Gekai is a tiny realm attached to the larger realm of Tenkai... To say nothing of the monsters and gods filling Tenkai, in truth, you are already physically and magically powerful enough to make the tier two Stellaglyph to reach alternate worlds." She spoke and I raised an eyebrow at that news.

'Did I even want to leave the world of Danmachi?' I thought but then again as I thought more on the scenario I could already see how my actions had brought... A great deal of instability to the world, to say nothing of whatever I had done to the dungeon with killing the Wall of Flesh.

But with my max stats leveling strategy farming monsters wholesale, killing thousands of them every minute with traps, and using my full power and skill to kill them. Had become trivial and although there was certainly growth in doing so. The Falna was a storybook, and the story about character A walking into the dungeon for the hundredth time and flexing his magic to atomize every monster in a mile... Well, that got boring frankly.

'I thought I needed a Celestriad Root to craft the Stellaglyph to chart to different worlds?' I asked Eridani and she scoffed with her voice filling my ears with impatience.

"You have already slain the World Guardian Jake. You were ready for it when you chose me... So rather than using it as a crafting component to keep your sanity from eldritch elements I replaced your spine and heart with it. So you are now ageless... So long as this particular universe exists in any case." She said easily and I froze at her words.

"How could you... How am I immortal now?!" I demanded and she chuckled but it was a tired old thing as she responded flatly.

"Jake... We are both aware of the countless realities beyond this one, this world of Danmachi... Is interesting I admit with the gods running around, but for one its got a low power ceiling for the mortal races and really. How many methods in the countless realities and worlds you would tentatively call fiction have methods of agelessness? And don't call yourself immortal for you are not at all." She warned me sternly.

I went silent at Eridani's words and having finished the conversation I twitched making Bell's red eyes open to lazily look at me as my mind filled with the crafting recipe of the tier one and two Stellaglyph.

"Which worlds does the Stellaglyph lead to?" I asked Eridani and she groaned mentally within my soul and I couldn't explain the utterly alien feeling of the fragment of the planeswalker shifting within my soul.

But with some impatience at being kept awake longer, she said tiredly after she herself was tired after unlocking so many abilities and being glutted on the essence I gave her from killing the bosses.

"Countless worlds... Many you could recognize but the closest ones you can reach safely and have challenges and items of value that you could steal are the worlds of Teyvat, its alternate world and the realms that are attached to it. And some other versions of Earth following the timelines you would recognize as Touhou, Destiny or the Nasuverse... Which is a major pain to do anything in, by the way."

Eridani groaned and I could feel her desire for sleep as she sleepily muttered. "Still there are other worlds as well that my items act as easy beacons to head towards... Eldin Ring, League of Legends, and other places... But regardless tomorrow you need to fight, The Vagrant of Space and Time, if you want to unlock the beginning of your true power as a Starfarer."

She finished and no matter how I asked mentally she wouldn't respond leaving me to snuggle with Bell and Haruhime with entirely too many thoughts in my head.
