After her injuries were treated, two people were staring at each other without anyone taking the initiative to utter a word. After a while, unable to bare his icy gaze anymore, Reina lowered her eyes and biting her lips, she opened her mouth to speak.
"I... I'm sorry that l lied to you, Mami and Annie. I didn't have a choice back then so I accepted this family's offer to be a..a..a surrogate mother in exchange for the five million dollars l spend on our family". It took a few seconds for the words of what Reina just said to sink in for Axel. His eyes widen and his heart dropped. His fear all along wasn't far from the truth. How would a girl who's barely twenty, gather such a huge amount of money in such a short period.
He feared that she must've gotten herself into serious trouble for this money. She sold her body for that money. Grabbing her by the arm, he pulled her close to him, his eyes red with anger and pain.
"You sold your womb for money. Who gave you the right to do something like that? Why will you make such a decision on your own? Do you even know how serious this matter is?" He yelled at her face. Feeling indignant that her efforts weren't appreciated, Reina also screamed back at him, crying.
"What did you expect me to do? Our family was falling apart. Mom's mental health was bad. Annie was on her deathbed and Mr Smith was threatening to destroy us if l don't pay up. You were also in jail. How did you want me to handle everything?. I was about to collapsed with all these issues. Did you think l would just sit there and do nothing when l know l could save you all?".
Reina collapsed to her knees, crying miserably. All these months of grievances was flowing down. He felt angry at himself for his incompetence which has landed her in this mess. He was unable to protect her and their family. Everything was his fault. , Kneeling in front of her, he gathered Reina who was crying pitifully into his embrace.
"Big brother, I'm sorry but I didn't have a choice.I wanted everyone to be okay. Please forgive me for lying to you". Reina begged. Teary eyed, Axel shooked his head and patting her comfortingly on the back, he replied, "It wasn't your fault. Big brother is the one who has wronged you. I'm sorry for making you suffer. Don't worry, I'll make everything better again".
In their emotional state, they failed to notice someone quietly peeking and snapping photos of them through the door.
In Giselle's bedroom, she's having a conference video call with Harry. "Harry, when are you coming back home. You've been gone for so long. Someone misses you a lot". She teased.
Harry face remained aloof when he realized that Reina wasn't there with her, "Where is she?" He asked. "I've been calling her number but she hasn't answered any." Giselle bite her lips, feeling conflicted on whether to tell him what happened or not.
"You mean Reina? Oh she wasn't feeling good so she took some medicine and needed to rest a little. She's probably resting" Giselle lied. Sasha was sitting leisurely in reclining sofa while playing with her favorite persian cat. A maid was kneeling in front of her with her head lowered.
"Madame, this is got l got today. I'm pretty sure you'll like the content", the maid said and handed her a phone. Sasha took the phone and her expression changed when she saw the photos taken of Reina in the arms of a guard. Her expression turned excited as she laughed with joy.
"Oh Harry. Look at the woman you are enamored with. She's nothing more than a slut". Sasha thought.
"This is great. You've done a fantastic job. I'll reward you handsomely." Hearing this, the maid happily thanked Sasha, promising to continue keeping a close eye on Reina. Since she wasn't allowed to enter the Lake house, she managed to bride this maid to be her eyes there and report everything that goes on there especially anything that has to do with Reina. With this evidence, she'll like to see how Harry will continue to love that whore when she's being so intimate with another man while he was away.
After Harry was done talking with his sister, he received an anonymous email on his laptop. At first he wanted to ignore it but on second thought he opened the email and what he saw made his eyes turned cold and gloomy. He called his assistant and said, "Get the jet ready. I'm going home tomorrow".
"But Sir you can't leave yet. We still have to sign the merge with A Corp tomorrow night" the assistant replied. They still haven't finished with their business yet. Harry closed his eyes in frustration and he angrily threw threw away the laptop. All those photos were like an eyesore to him.
