The day dawned, and they continued discussing, but nothing definitive yet. They would use their own methods to create a strategy, but nothing had been decided.
Minato still pondered whether he should attack Madara at that moment or not, because the temptation to blow up the castle was great.
From one point, he would have the ability to eliminate this threat; from another, he would have a problem with his own plans, since the war was still something administrative for them.
The war would be dangerous, of course. Not only because of the four nations, but also because of other forces that were moving. Even so, Minato had his wives. He should trust their brute strength to deal with the threats that the war could bring to Konoha.
The groups' conversation did not extend much beyond logistical organization. The Kages clearly seemed suspicious, with the exception of the Mizukage, of Madara's words. It was evident that there were more things beyond what he had said, his personal revenge, but even so, they ended up buying the idea that he wanted to destroy Konoha. Since he was a bridge to what they also desired.
The groups began to leave the castle after that, returning to their nations to discuss with the council elders. Meanwhile, Madara disappeared along with Zetsu's abilities beneath the ground.
The castle soon began to be emptied. The Zetsus left the region, while Minato and Hanabi remained there for a while. They saw Takeshi having a serious conversation with Mifune, but nothing too serious — just that the Land of Iron would remain neutral in this war and that they had certain suspicions about Madara and his objectives.
A Zetsu stayed there listening to their conversation, but did nothing more.
Minato just sighed. "Let's go," he said in the end.
Hanabi nodded, and they disappeared in the next moment, reappearing in the middle of the inn. They found all 7 eating their first meal of the day, unseen by anyone outside or inside the inn, since Hanabi had been quite specific: to the staff there was only one woman and three children there. She had given enough money to rent that part of the inn and had forbidden anyone from approaching. No one questioned further with the amount that was delivered.
"Sensei, you're here!", Obito was the first to speak, as Minato and Hanabi joined them.
"Let's eat something first, then we head to Konoha," Minato said. He and his wife had gone more than 24 hours without eating anything.
After the meal, everyone left, arriving in the middle of Konoha with Minato's teleportation jutsu. The three Uzumaki girls, who were teleporting that way for the first time, looked around with admiration.
"Finally we're back, after two missions, one rank A and another rank SS!", Obito shouted excitedly.
"Well, it's not like we did much, Obito, so don't think so highly of yourself," Kakashi murmured, with a certain dissatisfaction.
He could even have those missions in his career record, however he knew that, in the end, all they did was fight against a few chuunin and watch their teacher defeating all the most powerful ninjas in the group. After that, all he did was stay at an inn in the Land of Iron. It didn't even make sense to include those missions for them.
"Calm down, Kakashi. You'll have your opportunity soon," Minato gave Kakashi a pat on the back, and he nodded carefully.
"I'm ready to go home! My parents must be worried," Rin didn't fail to comment.
Minato nodded and turned back to his sensei and then to Hanabi. "Let's go to the Hokage's office first to report the missions. After that, you're free." Minato spoke to everyone and looked ahead, they had teleported right at the entrance of the Hokage building.
The 6 children followed with them. Rin would also have to wait a bit to meet her parents.
Sakumo received them immediately as soon as they appeared at the entrance.
His gaze was serious as soon as he saw them entering. "So?", he asked, behind the desk.
"We just returned from the Land of Iron. The Land of Bears mission was completed, and then the Land of Iron mission also took place. We were not detected," Minato said.
"Great. Well, we'll have to talk in private," he said, looking at the adults there. Minato, Hanabi, Jiraiya and Sakumo would be in a private conversation.
Minato turned his attention back to his students. "You're dismissed. Come to my house tomorrow if you want to train, but you'll be off if you want to do something else."
"Alright, sensei. Let's go then. Thank you," Rin said, as she also said goodbye.
In the end, only Minato, Hanabi, Jiraiya and Sakumo remained. After the others left, Sakumo made a signal for all the ANBU to leave the place. No one would have the right to hear that conversation, being secret information classified as rank SS.
Jiraiya was still not aware of what his former students would hear. He only knew that they would reveal something important at that moment.
"Four Kages and the nations have officially become our enemies. They stated that they will start the Third Great Ninja War," Minato said, making the atmosphere in the office grow heavy.
Jiraiya immediately narrowed his eyes.
"So that's how it is...", Sakumo murmured, letting out a sigh, already accepting that fact.
"From what I studied in the last year, none of the nations has the power to deal with Konoha," Jiraiya commented. "Which makes me think: what really happened in that meeting?"
Minato gave a small smile. "You're quite intelligent, sensei. In fact, there are certain interesting elements in that meeting," he paused. "The first is that they will seek an organization in the Land of Rain and also hire rogue ninjas, bounty hunters."
"An organization in the Land of Rain?", Jiraiya raised an eyebrow.
"Yes... and I can even imagine who that organization is," Minato spoke carefully.
Jiraiya seemed to feel a chill taking over him. If it were really Nagato and the others, he wouldn't know what to say.
"But that is not the main event that gave them the courage to start a war. Orochimaru was brought by a person who shocked all the Kages, which made them all tremble."
"Orochimaru? Who would bring Orochimaru?", Jiraiya spoke immediately, disturbed. Even Sakumo seemed to feel a chill.
"Madara Uchiha appeared at the meeting," Minato said.
The two who still didn't know were shocked, their mouths opening like fish out of water.
"Madara... Uchiha?", Sakumo asked, in a weak tone.
"Yes. He is alive after all this time and is quite old, if you want to know. A relic of the past that refuses to die. He claimed that he survived in the Valley of the End and endured all these years gathering strength after being heavily injured in the fight against Hashirama, to seek revenge. His objective, according to what he told the Kages, is to destroy us." Minato made a brief pause before continuing.
"But he is not alone. Those white creatures that I hunted once — I also warned you about them — the Zetsus, are his creation. He said he has thousands of them. They may be weak, but they know how to camouflage themselves and, from what I understood, they can also copy chakra and transform into other people. In other words, they can infiltrate and corrupt the ninja ranks from within."
Even Hanabi looked at him in surprise this time. She didn't know this information, and Minato knew that, but he continued speaking, knowing that it was crucial for everyone to know, even if he didn't have an explanation for knowing from a past life.
"This seems to be terrible," Jiraiya murmured.
"Yes. That's why we are going to prepare well for this war," Minato said in a serious tone.
Sakumo nodded. "I understand. Let's prepare an emergency meeting immediately. I want all the greatest powers of the village along with the council."
"Sakumo, you summon the elders. Jiraiya, call Tsunade and even Hiruzen. I don't like him, I really don't like him, but he will also be necessary in this war," Minato said. He had kept Hiruzen alive for a reason: he recognized his strength and, despite his greed, his firm desire to keep the village safe and also the world.
"I will bring my wives. Everyone must be here in an hour. Also isolate the entire area with a fūinjutsu barrier. Call the sealing department and tell Kushina to go home as soon as she can."
Everyone nodded.
Minato grabbed his wife's arm and disappeared. Jiraiya left, and Sakumo immediately called the ANBU to pass on the orders.
Minato arrived home, where Tsuna and Mikoto were, taking care of their children.
"You finally arrived," Tsuna said with a smile, approaching for a kiss on her husband, with their daughter in her arms.
Tsuna should already know the moment they had arrived in the village. Minato returned the kiss to Tsuna, turning to Mikoto, who was also received in his arms, before he touched Itachi's little face.
"So, how were the missions?", Mikoto asked.
"It happened a bit differently than I imagined, but they were all carried out. I want to take a shower before an important meeting, and I want you to be there with me."
"That important?", Tsuna raised an eyebrow.
"We're talking about war," it was Hanabi who answered, at the side, touching _______'s face.
"War?", Mikoto narrowed her eyes as she murmured.
"Yes. Different from the battle in Uzushiogakure, this time it involves the entire world and the whole Land of Fire. We will gather at the Hokage's office in an hour. We are the greatest force in the village, so all of us will participate," Minato said.
Mikoto nodded, and Tsuna did as well.
"Then let me take a shower too. I didn't sleep well last night," Tsuna said, looking at Minato, indicating they would go together.
Minato didn't mind. It wasn't something unusual between them. Since he liked to play with little ____ and Itachi in the bathtub.
Kushina appeared at the house moments later, finding Minato and the others already getting ready after the bath.
"Minato!", she ran to her husband and hugged him.
She also felt when he arrived in the village, but she was in the sealing sector, so she couldn't go earlier. She was still wearing a white coat, which was the uniform of her work team.
After pulling her from his arms, Minato looked seriously at Kushina. "We are going to gather at the Hokage's office. We are going to enter a war soon."
Upon hearing this, Kushina immediately understood and nodded, with a serious look. Whatever Minato had to say, he would say it at the meeting, not there.
"Alright. I'll go change. We had to set up some barriers around the Hokage's office. I figured it was something serious," she said, before leaving and returning with the traditional kunoichi kimono.
Tsuna and Mikoto had made a clone to take care of the children. Minato also left a clone there and took his four wives straight to the Hokage's office.
"This is going to draw some attention," Minato said, looking at the ANBU teams hidden around. The barrier was already up, which was enough, but there were still several teams positioned.
Tsunade and Jiraiya were already there on the other side, at the entrance.
"Well, this seems important," Tsunade said, with her arms crossed looking at the 5 approaching, before stepping closer to her daughter and looking at Minato.
"This is strange, isn't it? It's not every day that we gather like this," Minato gave a smile upon hearing his mother-in-law.
To tell the truth, it was the first time that the greatest forces of the village were finally gathered.
"Yes, everything will be clarified. Now let's go in, everyone is already inside."
Minato wasted no time. The entire council was already there, along with Hiruzen. Minato entered with his teacher, his mother-in-law and his four wives.
And in that room, the future of Konoha would be decided.
