[Chapter Size: 2000 Words.]
Third Person POV
Konoha, Year 42.
...
...
The place fell silent at that moment, as all eyes shifted between the tower, with the Hokage looking at the hostile crowd against him and below it at the three new people who had arrived.
Who were quickly identified as young, at least younger than the clan leaders there, and seemed to be leading them by the position they had landed.
All eyes were still on the girl, glowing with her bijuu's chakra, which became more evident to everyone, who looked on in disbelief. During the last war, many had met jinchuurikis or even faced transformed bijuus.
That chakra turned any human being into a mass destruction machine by placing a sealed bijuu inside them. It was so clear that, even those who had never seen it, just by beginning to feel that terrible chakra there, began to gulp, recognizing the power such chakra held.
But there was also a doubt in the air when looking at the transformed girl.
While most jinchuurikis transformed in layers with the red chakra cloak, the bijuu chakra in Kushina was different. It transformed her into something distinct, not with red chakra, but with a yellow layer covering her body like a cloak with strange symbols.
Only her eyes remained blue, while the chakra continued to leak out, burning through her body, spitting several small flames into the air before disappearing.
Most didn't even know who Kushina Uzumaki really was, many could only recognize her as the Uzumaki girl who used to walk around the village a few years ago, when she had a bit more freedom.
And it didn't help that her hair had turned yellow with the chakra layer covering her.
Obviously, it was a secret that she held the Kyuubi inside her, being extremely restricted information, after all she was Konoha's jinchuuriki.
Kushina hadn't been very active in the village in recent years and that made many people forget her existence. She almost seemed like a ghost, disappeared with time, after that episode about her kidnapping, when the village decided it was better to isolate her completely with defenses like a caged bird.
Kushina really felt trapped and hated having that lifestyle, where everything was limited to living inside her house. If it weren't for Minato, who promised he would get her out of there while filling her with love, something Mito had taught was essential to live as a jinchūriki, which made her endure that lifestyle, she would have gone insane and resented the village with hatred for it.
That's why, when she managed to leave with Minato, she was immensely happy during their meetings inside and outside the village, always anxious for the next time Minato would visit her after his mission.
That night, in that moment, she was satisfied with the incredulous look of everyone. Everyone had feelings of fear and surprise upon feeling the powerful chakra she had. Even the clans that were supporting Minato, you could see the shock on their faces as well.
Her gaze fell on the Hokage, and she was satisfied for having struck him earlier, as if she were avenging some of her frustrations for him and the other elders having kept her imprisoned for years.
And now, she would finally be free. No more decisions would be imposed on her. She was stronger than the Hokage.
She knew that even if Minato's operation failed, the village had seen something that would forever change the political power — anyone knew the value of a jinchuuriki who could control such power, and she had the Kyuubi. Something not even Mito had done. Her almost perfect control of the most powerful bijuu would make her position in the village as great as that of a Hokage.
But Minato had never needed to say such words, because she didn't have to deal with that. After all, she would now be by his side and would watch him solve everything, as he always did.
Her gaze turned to the Hokage, staring at Minato with a look that questioned what was happening. She had seen it herself when he appeared in front of the clan. He had seen that she had control over the power borrowed from Kurama. At the same time, the Hokage questioned how she had acquired such a thing and how, while Minato was the true culprit behind her power, having left the village thanks to his teleportation technique without the Anbu knowing.
But in reality, Kushina no longer seemed to care about holding grudges from her years in confinement, not even the fact that she now had her freedom mattered that much...
What Kushina longed for in her heart was finally being by her beloved's side and fighting with him.
As she watched Minato staring seriously at the Hokage, admiration shone in those blue eyes. Now, if Minato had to resolve the situation with the Hokage, she would be there by his side, to support and protect him.
The Hokage made several grimaces as his thoughts began to clash internally about what to do. The situation was far from favorable. In fact, it was horrible and extremely dangerous.
Around him, more and more ninjas approached, filling the rooftops around them with a crowd. Many ninjas were still advancing to the ground beside the building, forming an ever-larger group that no longer even fit there.
The ninjas landed beside the Hokage's building, also staring at Minato and all the allied clans as enemies. This caused a certain numerical advantage, but even so, the power of Minato, Tsuna, and Kushina should not be underestimated.
Even with an increasing number on his side, as the ninjas joined in a large crowd around him, the potential of the enemies was far stronger. It didn't matter how many ninjas the village had — he himself couldn't even react to Kushina's move. She simply destroyed him in an instant. He couldn't react to that speed, and that was terrifying to Hiruzen.
Not even in his wildest dreams could he have predicted the scenario he now faced.
'Fighting won't work,' the Hokage thought.
'That will only lead us to defeat. I need to choose another path.'
'I'll have to use the village's own influence to change this game. Minato isn't here for power.'
The Hokage recognized that. He also knew Minato was stronger than thousands of shinobi combined there, even more so with Kushina and Tsuna at his side, each with their distinct powers.
'Could Minato go against the will of the village?' the Hokage debated with himself.
'No... I don't think the boy would do that. Then, I'll have to turn public opinion against him.'
If even Sakumo Hatake had bowed and given up being a ninja... because the village simply saw him as an incompetent plague..., then this method said a lot when Sakumo was one of the strongest ninja in Konoha... Minato couldn't be any different.
While the Hokage was thinking about what to do, Minato felt an uneasy gaze from behind him, as someone cautiously approached. The Uchiha were a bit shaken by the immense amount of chakra before them — both from Kushina herself, but they could also see an even stronger chakra coming from Tsunade's daughter.
"Minato Namikaze, I'd like to know where my daughter is," it was Mizu who spoke, looking at Minato's back.
He saw only two girls at his side. While he had been following the situation, he hadn't heard from Mikoto in many days, only that she was safe. He didn't hesitate to ask in front of the clan, where everyone had a certain antipathy for Minato — and even more for Mikoto.
"She's fine. She's in the hideout, recovering," Minato said, without looking at Mizu.
"What do you mean by 'recovering'?" Mizu asked carefully.
"You'll understand at another time, when we talk. For now, just know she's safe. And I can be there in an instant, if she's in danger," Minato replied.
"I see," Mizu stepped back, while Hiruzen finally opened his mouth.
"Minato Namikaze, you are leading an offensive against the leadership of the village and creating a civil war that could destabilize Konoha in such a sensitive moment," the Hokage began, while the civilian jounin focused more on his words than anything else.
"You're inflating the issue more than it actually is," Minato replied, his voice just as loud as the Hokage's, while people stirred, trying to understand what was happening.
Minato, even though his reputation had taken a few hits in recent months, was still the village's hero. Seeing him confront the Hokage left people conflicted, debating what to do.
Even Kakashi was stunned, as Minato was being accused of leading all this chaos.
"We're here to pressure the village leadership and expose what you did when you sold our allies like cattle to our enemies," Minato decided to speak directly to the Hokage, causing even more murmurs around them, since no one knew what he was talking about.
"You have no right to speak like that, boy!" shouted one of the two advisors, stepping beside Hiruzen.
"Of course I do! Hokage, why don't you explain to the village why I and several clans are here to pressure you?" Minato challenged.
"Tell everyone how you betrayed the very allies who bled beside us, who sacrificed themselves. But in the end, all four villages are organizing an attack, right now, against them — and you don't even care. You're even manipulating the information so it doesn't reach everyone's ears. Everyone here knows: the nations are raising an army and intend to attack our ally.
An ally the Hokage himself handed over during the Kage summit, when they discussed peace."
Minato made that very clear, staring at Hiruzen with a spark of anger in his eyes.
The effect was as expected. Even the jounin already on the Hokage's side started murmuring, wondering what he was talking about, and all eyes turned to Hiruzen, who stood there, still staring at Minato.
The man was good at hiding what he thought, trying to keep a neutral expression. But Minato could see his lips trembling — feeling anger, frustration... Words could be spoken there, and he didn't care. All he wanted was to see what the "immaculate" man, as he called himself, would say. He wanted to see what the village would think of his mistakes.
"Yes, it's true. I handed over an ally to our enemies to maintain peace," Hiruzen simply said. There was no hiding it anymore, and certainly it would be debatable after whatever happened.
But he was sure Danzou would clean everything up. Now, it was a bit more complicated. He also couldn't stay silent and claim nothing was happening. Minato would raise irrefutable proof. All he could really do was admit it.
"But I did it for peace, to keep the four nations away from the Land of Fire," Hiruzen argued.
"You really think that will solve anything, you fool? Tell me! Say it in front of the whole village!" Minato began to raise his voice, his expression far more frustrated. "Tell me the name of the clan you simply handed over like cattle to the slaughter. Be brave and take responsibility for your actions!"
The Hokage seemed a bit more irritated, but surprisingly he took a deep breath under everyone's gaze.
"Yes. I handed over the Uzumaki clan to the four nations to be destroyed. That is a small price for peace!"
Hiruzen suddenly no longer carried that gentle tone.
He looked like an older and harsher man. He was grim and furious, and didn't hesitate to shout his final words, leaving everyone stunned.
Minato felt it. Now the real debate would begin, though he already wondered what the Hokage planned to do, since his forces were smaller. Even if he gathered the rest of the village, it would be useless against those three, and he was being brutally honest with everything happening.
