Chapter 12 - 12. Overwhelming senses

I was taken aback when I saw all of the system messages. For a brief moment, I sat dazedly staring at the system in disbelief. I began to doubt my own reality.

My dizziness, however, did not last long. My new strong senses were suddenly overwhelmed by a plethora of different noises and smells from all corners of the forest.

The forest, which had always been silent at night, came to life. Various animal shrieks assaulted my ears, as if trying to pierce my head with their sharpness. It felt like an army was marching alongside me through the woods.

I wanted to cover my ears with my hands to stop the torturous shrieks, but I didn't. I was afraid that my lack of control over my own, now powerful body would cause me to rip my own ears or worse, crush my head.

My vision had also gone haywire. I couldn't seem to concentrate on anything. It was changing from a reddish hue to glowing dim red lights in the dark to complete darkness.

Everything in my vision was moving together, shifting and blurring to the point where I couldn't tell what was going on around me.

Everything around me was tinged with red, as if someone had stroked a red brush across a dark canvas and then splashed water on top. It was hazy and blurry.

My brain was struggling to keep up with the change of colours in my vision and everything else going on, but its primary focus remained on keeping my frantically beating heart calm.

I tried to relax and take a deep breath, but the world around me kept changing in ways I couldn't control. Images of various things flashed by so quickly that it didn't even register in my mind. I was trying to remember something only for it to switch again, and disappear.

I began to feel the beating of my heart rising in my chest as I struggled to stay sane and not drown under the onslaught of sensory overload that was tearing me apart.

But then, I remembered the moment when all of my attention was entirely fixed on the system messages. At that time, I didn't experience any of this shit..

Thinking about that, I tried to apply the same method. I focused all of my attention on a single thing and it worked. Slowly but surely I could feel all the voices started to die out, as I gradually started to regain a semblance of control over my senses. I felt a bit light-headed.

I concentrated until everything returned to normal. The voices had died away, and all that remained were the noises of my breathing in and out.

I calmed myself by listening intently to the sound of my heartbeat. Then I tried to erase all of my raging thoughts and refresh my mind in order to have blank space. It took a few seconds for me to figure out, but it worked. I took a deep breath... let all the tension out... And I braced myself.

Then, gradually, I shifted my focus to my surroundings, and all manner of noise assaulted my ears once more. I gritted my teeth and persisted, digesting everything that was going on around me. And, as I predicted, my ears and mind grew accustomed to it after a while. I could now tell where all the noises were coming from.

I was astounded as I listened to the voices. I could hear a variety of sounds.

Birds chirping, beasts howling as if they were charging at me, wind blowing through the trees, and insects buzzing around. It sounded like nature had composed an orchestra.

The sound of water falling from a nearby waterfall made me feel even more at ease than before. A gentle breeze blew through my hair, and I inhaled deeply.

I was thinking to myself...

If it had been before, when I was a human, I wouldn't have been able to tell where the noises were coming from, and my ears might not have been able to register anything at all. However, a Vampire's hearing is far superior to that of humans. Even though I couldn't hear everything, I could tell that there was a lot going on around me.

Slowly, I opened my eyes to discover that everything had returned to normal, or what I thought was normal.

My perception of the world was no longer hazy. Everything appeared to be in order, and I could actually see! But there was another difference.

My eyesight has improved. It became so powerful that the darkness of the night no longer bothered me, and I could see everything clearly even in complete darkness.

Felling completely elated, I focused all of my attention on the vision around me to test the limits of my new senses, and as if on cue something switched in my head and the whole world transformed in a shade of red and black. As if I was in a completely different world.

For a split second, I thought it was the same as the last time, when my vision became a jumbled mess of blurry red and black lines with no distinguishing characteristics. However, as my eyes adjusted to this new world, the messy blurry lines began to take shape. They twisted and shifted, creating a sight that completely blew my mind.

Everything was different now—the world slowed down almost imperceptibly yet without any loss in clarity or detail, allowing me to take in every nuance of what is happening before me with an ease that had never been possible for me before.

I saw various animals running around, birds flying in the distant, and even small insects. However, everything in my view seemed to be red and grey.

#howlll...#

A beastly roar could be heard in the distance. I focused my eyes in that direction, and my vision abruptly zoomed in that direction, as if my eyes were a camera, and I could see a group of wolf-like creatures.

• Silver wolf- lvl5

Suddenly a notification window pooped up infront of me.. but momentarily I ignored it.

I was more fascinated by the vision that was unfolding before me.

I could even see the blood streaming through their pulsing veins. I could even see their heart, pumping blood with each pulsation.

They turned towards me, as if feeling my gaze, and then ran away deep in the jungle.

I was taken aback. I didn't know how to describe this incredible sensation.I felt like I have a sonar system in my head. My ears became very sensitive to noise and my eyes could even see through this dense forest.

It was like a veil had lifted from my mind and I could see the world in its purest form—it was breathtaking. My heart began to race at the prospect of what this meant for me, and how far these powers might allow me to go. The possibilities were endless.

I clenched my fists. I could feel the raw power coursing through my body. It was almost euphoric. It gave me chills, thinking how much I will grow in the future.

I don't know what will happen in the future, or how much I will grow but one thing is sure...

"I won't just settle with this..much

"I WANT MOREEEEEEEEE.....

Heh.., it will be interesting.
