Maverick knew she was his Rossa the minute she talked about the island. That island was a gift to him by his father. The day that the island was opened, only ten families were invited. Among those families, only one young woman brought a little girl with hazel eyes along.
Maverick remembered the girl because she was way cuter than all the children he had seen. That wasn't all, she had a smile that melted a person's heart which made her the favorite on the island but her mother was overprotective of her.
The child loved to play and run around but the masked mother was the opposite. Yes, masked.

The day Rossa fought with her mother, he was passing by when he heard the child singing In the rain. The mother didn't like that, so she chastised Rossa. Annoyed, Rossa argued back and ran away from her mother.
