-Break-
Location: Abundant Kingdom, Varage; Village of Zaad Ziener; Captivant's House
As a knock smashes against her door, Domita Nightfall moves to open it, and in front of her eyes lie both Captivant and Siegrund, slugged over his arm, with a chair in her son's hand.
He quickly lets Siegrund fall to the ground, then says, "He got his butt kicked by the Queen; feed him your best milk or something, I have things to attend to."
Siegrund stretches his arms and says, "Domita," in a small whimper.
Seeing this, she moves over to him and hugs him, saying, "I knew you could keep up with the Queen; what a good boy you are." Their embrace sends out a flurry of positive energy that brings a smile to the faces of everyone who happens to glance at them, with the exception of the man who furiously walks past both of them as he approaches his room.
Entering and slamming the door, he places the chair on the ground and says, "You'll see, you bitch, and when I win I will subject you to the greatest of torture, just you wait as you'll be crying and whining on the floor like the stupid dog you are."
-1 Day Later-
Φ Form a square with our wooden rails, then using mortise-and-tenon joints connect it with four wooden legs for the seat, along with adding supporting rails between the legs to increase the strength as well as building a strong back support to keep my body steady.
Use Spirit Energy against paper and make my spirit energy slightly spikier in some areas, and then use that to sand off the edges of the chair, before giving it a fresh polish. Using my precision and artistic capabilities, I should etch designs from Dá for the sake of giving it a far more exotic look, and besides, the Nightmares are fond enough of Enotita.
Slamming my fixed masterpiece onto the ground, I swipe the sweat off my face and say, "A perfectly good chair, and it's my first attempt, and at least aesthetically it looks as good as the one of the right pierce it's colouring."
Taking a seat, I say, "Not the softest. I should see if I can import some softer cushioning. I should also try to get some higher quality wood, and polish to make it shine as much as possible; some gems could work as well. I guess I will have to find some way to get to my wealth in Uilepheist. Dammit, I knew I should've sprawled out more of it across the countries. I should've just dealt with Cordum's hounding."
Standing up, I say, "But still the thought of what I am going to get that whore to do fills me with nothing more than pleasure." Her nasty eyes move through my head, and for that moment I feel the smile on my face fade as I say, "She is going to read all my books, and then I will see if she can still say those same things to me."
Looking at the seat in the corner of the room, I take a few steps forward and say, "I should stink this boy up with a gaggle of farts before I return it; let's see how much she feels when her nose gets a whiff of the putrid shit they have left in the kitchen."
Moving my butt, I take a seat against the chair, and there I feel the entire world halt. My eyes can see clearer, my ears can hears better, my muscles feel far more at peace and my skin loosens as it drowds in the pleasure of the chair, my back feel free, and my smelling is sharper, I can taste the very air that flies around me, and my heart beat perfectly, in this moment it's like I've been transported to a new word.
Did she make this?
My body quickly ascends, and a sick feeling bursts through each of my senses as the world around me spins over and over again, making me fall to the ground and scream from the bottom of my heart.
I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die, I am going to die!
It's like the rhythm of my body was perfected then stolen away from itself, so now every aspect of it is struggling to readjust; if this continues, I am going to die. I need help, I need someone to, "HELP ME!"
My door soon opens, and there Siegrund runs over to me, and places his against my heart, and says, "Your body is out of rhythm. FOCUS! Your Spirit Arts have led you to understand the best ways for your body to function, so start from your heart and push your Spirit Energy to where it feels familiar, allow your flesh to remember how to function."
He gently sends Spirit Energy around my heart before leaving, and I soon follow in turn, sending my Spirit Energy there before then guiding it around where my body soul remembers is the most optimal. I was never a master at full focus Spirit Arts, in which one sends Spirit Energy to the most optimal parts, yet I was, regardless of whether I want to or not, trained by this monster, so I can overcome this!
My body begins to fall back in line under my control, and my breathing starts to stabilise bit by bit, until I can stand up, and as I do, Siegrund helps me before he asks, "What caused this?"
"That chair over there is some kind of Cursed Item; it did this to me."
Walking over it and placing his hand on it, Siegrund says, "It isn't a Cursed Item."
"No way? You can't appraise that by yourself?"
"Cursed Items respond to the electric impulses bodies send to them; that's what allows them to function. This gives me no such response; it's handmade."
"That's impossible, if so why did it fry my bra-. No, does that mean she managed to make sure a perfect chair that it literally balanced the world for me? She did this with just her own skill?"
What kind of skill would it even take to accomplish such a feat. Does her curse increase her brain functioning? But the Frumos family curse is bone manipulation; her brain should be any more enhanced than the average Nightmar-.
Giggling moves through my ears, and turning my head I see Siegrund trying his best to hold in a laugh, and as our eyes meet, he says, "You almost got killed by a chair?"
My face burns red as I say, "This isn't any normal chair; it's a weapon of mass destruction, you nincompoop!"
With his laughter bursting out, he says, "You almost got sent to hell by a chair!"
"SHUT UP!"
I swing my arm to strike his face, and running forward at full speed, he rushes out of the room, as I take in a deep breath to reconfigure myself back to normal. Turning to the chair, I say, "If you can accomplish this with your own two hands, I can as well!"
-Break-
Φ From that day Captivant's body moved tirelessly, doing anything and everything in his power to reach the artistry that stood before him, finding the best material, focusing to his very limit, even etching his very soul into the wood in front of him again and again.
Yet each time his posterior sat on his chair, he could only say one thing, "This is wrong, this is wrong, this is wrong!"
As the sensation that almost ended his life was far removed from anything he touched or felt with his body, bringing nothing but a gnawing frustration that ate away at his very mind, the rage within his soul carried him forward day after day non-stop until he couldn't move on anymore, as those who always provided drew their limit.
Φ Focusing my arms on the chair in front of me, I say, "What did you say?" As I turn my head to see both my father and mother.
"You heard me, didn't you? You are not allowed to borrow wood anymore for this project."
"Are you insane! I have a goal to accomplish and a duty to fulfil, so stop pestering my progress with this nonsense."
His finger points at the stacks upon stacks of chairs all across my side of the room, as he says, "Yet your skill level hasn't increased despite all your work. This wood is far better suited as firewood for the people."
"How dare you do such a thing to m-."
"SHUT YOUR MOUTH! YOU SOLD YOUR RIGHTS TO THIS LAND, SO IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, TAKE IT UP WITH YOUR PAST SELF!" My mother says.
My mother's words freeze me for a second, and my fathers turns his head to my mother as he says, "You're so cute when you're angry. Is tonight a good night?"
She gives him a thumbs up, and walking forward I say, "So you think you're a big man now. A parent has a responsibility to take care of their children, and yet you are failing this because of your own economic ineptitud-."
"Sorry, but this isn't up for discussion."
My mother claps her hands, and soon Siegrund leans against the door, staring at me, causing my approach to cease, as my father says, "So that will be all," and turns to walk away.
This is bad; if I don't have materials, I can't finish my project, and Siegrund already blocked my efforts to contact people outside of the country to access my funds; at this rate I am going to be stuck.
My mother's eyes don't leave me, and as I meet them she says, "What does one do when they have no way out?"
She can't be serious, right? I swear she only ever opens her mouth when she is trying to cause me pain in some wa-.
Her eyes stare at me like they are a fragile existence moments away from breaking, and soon the words, "Then let me work for it," slip from my mouth. Clicking my tongue, I say, "If you want me to beg, you can go ask the void, but I can assure you someone like me has a lot to offer people like you, in terms of farming."
Turning around, my father says, "Oh really? Does a soft-handed baby like you have any experience working the fields?"
What's with that smug look you have? Don't make me go over there and punch you, OLD BASTARD! "I would if I wanted to, but unlike you moron's I actually know how to advance your farming yields hundreds of times over without lifting a single finger."
Facing me with interest, my father says, "How would you do that?"
"Obviously with my brain, you moron. Unlike you monkeys, I actually have travelled the world and have mastered multiple different techniques for improving farming ability. Something that you couldn't even begin to understand."
Turning to my mother, he says, "Do you want to see?"
She nods, and then he faces me with a bright smile, saying, "Then don't disappoint us, Captivant?"
That stupid look he always had since I was a child, giving it to me just for being born. I swear I should punch him in the face, but for now I need to allow that monkey to see my superiority. "Don't worry, I will surpass any trouble I have."
