When Mr Jones returned from lunch, he had a small paper bag with him. He stopped at Whitney's table.
"Miss Warmer, I got you this, it is not good to skip meals, especially when one is working hard," Mr Jones said as he placed the paper bag on the table. He had finished his lunch as soon as possible so he could get her something without the others knowing about it.
He did not want them trying to compete with him. Since Whitney had a noble identity, he believed that by showing her care, she would say something nice about him before the special assistant or the president.
"You did not have to. I ate so much for breakfast," Whitney rejected, even if she was hungry
"How can it be enough, that was breakfast, and this is for lunch. Besides this, are just pastries, nothing heavy," Mr Jones said. "Besides, I have already eaten lunch. If you don't accept it, it will go to waste. Consider it as me giving you a welcome gift," He added, afaird that she would reject him again.
