Then the arena went dark—and all of them vanished.

Sofia's cage opened with a metallic snap.
Guards pulled her out, hauling her toward the VIP gallery.
Nearby, Amaya prepared to reveal herself so the rescuers would take her too—
But Sofia stepped forward first, cutting her off.
"Hurry! Get me out of here!" Sofia cried, breathless. "I triggered a trapdoor and ended up down there!"
The guards rushed her away.
Amaya was left behind.
