"Is this really a portal?" Lauren asked in awe. The blue fire surrounding the portal reflecting in her eyes made her blue orbs look glowing.
"Why don't you discover it yourself," Alec replied, amazed by this side of Lauren.
Most of the time she was playful, cold, and indifferent, but this time he saw her eyes turn wide in awe like a child who saw a rainbow for the first time in her life. And unlike the moments when she was pretending, at that moment her reaction looked genuine.
"It is surrounded by blue fire. Won't it burn me?" she asked, truly curious because blue flames were the hottest and most destructive flames especially if it was made out of a mage's power.
Instead of answering, Alec stepped inside the portal. She watched him successfully get to the other side without a scratch. His background showed the walls in the dungeon of his mansion as they stood in front of each other with the blazing portal between them. It was like they were in two places at the same time.
