Lord Hugh Loralles the 2nd, the current lord of Valenhurst, rushed to his fathers library in search of knowledge he could use to defeat Vexen. He used his vampiric speed to search for the right book.
It took him 30 minutes to find the correct book, but when he did, he knew that he would most likely lose this fight, because even the title of the book filled him fear. The children of the Outer void, Revenants, By The Ancient One. The vampire lord read the book from start to finish in less than 5 minutes using his vampiric speed. Every sentence filled him with dread, the book told of ancient undead, that had the power to enslave even the demi-gods to do their bidding, and whos hunger could devour the world. The only weakness they seemed to have, was against water in liquid form.
The vampire lord was shaken, for the first time in his life, everything seemed to hopeless.
He knew he wouldn't stand a chance against such a powerful being, But he had to try, not for himself, he had to try for his people who were probably being slaughtered at this very moment.
The vampire lord filled himself with the resolve needed to face Vexen, and headed to the doors of his manor to face the monster that was killing his people.
Meanwhile, in the middle of Valenhurst, battles were being waged, the vampires fighting against their fallen brethren, and Vexen using his vast amount of mana to make the fallen vampires rise again and again until almost all the soldiers were either under his control or dead.
The Vampires were losing the will to fight, they didn't want to kill their fellow vampires. Many of them also had family amongst the dead that they fought against.
What they didn't know, was that Vexen was using mind magic, to slowly manipulate their minds, and make them lose hope. The vampires were becoming more sluggish and as a result, more and more of them were being slain.
Vexen had a huge grin on his face. His revenge was becoming a reality before his very eyes.
He then had a thought, what if more vampire settlements were out there, at this very moment, enslaving kids and killing their parents?, he knew his revenge wouldn't be over with just Valenhurst destroyed, so Vexen made a promise to himself. He would obliterate any vampire settlement he came across, and make sure no vampire would escape his wrath.
He looked over the city of Valenhurst, with a smile, at the carnage he caused.
Vexen then decided to look at his quest tab to see how many vampires were left.
