Chapter 164: Moon Otsutsuki
MOMOSHIKI OTSUTSUKI POV
Millions of light years away from earth, Momoshiki stood at the edge of the observation chamber looking down at the small blue planet using his dojutsu.
For a normal human, it was impossible to see the planet that was so far that even Hubble telescope would find it difficult, but Otsutsuki Momoshiki are from Main family and his Byakugan were strong enough to do so.
Although he cannot see what exactly happen on earth, but still he could see the amount of chakra emanated from that blue planet.
His expression looking kind of annoyance when he thought something completely outside of his control.
"How long until that device can be use again?" asked Momoshiki, his voice become sharp with impatience. Although he had asked this question many times before but everytime he feel annoyed, he would ask it again.
"One more year before the device is fully charged and ready," replied Kinshiki, standing a respectful distance behind him with his arms folded.
Momoshiki exhaled slowly through his nose, trying to calm himself.
Four years ago, a disturbance on one of the neighboring planets within their territory had forced them to use the transportation device far earlier than planned, draining its reserves in a single emergency jump that had taken care of the immediate problem but left them stranded in terms of long range movement ever since. The device required five years to recharge fully after a jump of that distance.
"Five years," muttered Momoshiki under his breath, the number still irritating him every time he said it out loud. "All because of one unstable planet that was barely worth the visit in the first place."
"It could not have been predicted," said Kinshiki evenly.
"That does not make it less inconvenient," replied Momoshiki.
The original plan that they had was, they were going to make their move on earth within two years. Lack of message from Isshiki and Kaguya while earth Chakra Meter reached level 15.
Was something alarming and to find out what really happen there, they need to come to earth first.
Kaguya and Isshiki, both of whom had been stationed on that blue planet now didn't even send any message back.
He looked back down at the readout glowing faintly beside the observation window, the chakra meter ticking steadily upward as it monitored earth from a distance.
"What is the current reading?" asked Momoshiki.
"Sixteen," replied Kinshiki, glancing at the display himself. "It has climbed considerably in the last year alone."
Momoshiki frown deepened slightly.
"Sixteen," he repeated. "Do you remember when was last time the meter reached level 10?"
"Only in earlier years that we monitored the chakra meter on that planet," said Kinshiki. "After that not even once we tried to monitor it again."
Momoshiki feel annoyed about it, they never thought of reading the meter was because turned his full attention toward the display, studying the slow upward curve of the readout with a level of focus he had not given it in some time.
"Our standing order was to report back the moment it reached nine," said Momoshiki quietly. "It has nearly doubled that and nobody flagged it."
Kinshiki just silent, didn't answer it.
Momoshiki was silent for a long moment, his eyes fixed on the small blue planet suspended in the dark.
Whatever was happening on that side, something had clearly accelerated in a way that did not match the slow and predictable pattern of chara meter. Chakra growth on a planet like this one typically followed long and gradual curves. A spike like the one in front of us, suggested something had changed there.
"You can go," said Momoshiki.
Kinshiki gave a short nod and turned to leave.
Momoshiki remained there a while longer, watching the blue planet and can only clicked his tongue with anger.

Moon Otsutsuki
After the war was over thanks to Raiken, the situation on the moon become different.
Unlike the Hyuga Clan on earth, the Otsutsuki who settled on the moon had never invented anything like the Birdcage Seal, simply because there had never been an outside enemy for them to protect themselves against. For nearly a century that isolation meant peace.
Eventually, that peace began to crack from the inside because of the different ideology.
In the future, Toneri was the only survivor of his bloodline because every other member of his family had already died of old age or natural causes, leaving him alone on the moon.
Naruto the last shows the brutal reality of what would happen to Hyuga Clan if they never invented birdcage seal. Although there was no Black Zetsu stirred up trouble, human greed is still there.
While the brutal civil war wiped out the entire Main Family, the Branch Family did survive that conflict. However, they paid a massive price to win, and their population was severely reduced.
They didn't even hesitate to wipe out main family by sacrificing their members to create giant Tensegan. In the Naruto the last, The civil war happened generations before Toneri was even born. To defeat the Main Family, the Branch Family had to rip out and sacrifice thousands of their own clan members Byakugan eyes to power the Giant Tensegan (the Energy Vessel). This left a massive chunk of their remaining population blind, weak, and genetically depleted.
By the time Toneri was a young child, the Moon population had shrunk down to just a handful of people. Eventually, it was just Toneri and his father and it didn't take too long before finally only Toneri was left alone on the moon.
Later he would kidnap Hinata to make him become his wife and this tragedy would lead to Naruto finding out Hinata real feeling.
But talk about Otsutsuki on the moon and the Hyuga Clan, they are stronger than the Hyuga because of the 25% otsutsuki bloodline remain in their body.
While Hyuga clan had been diluted thanks to them inviting civillian to marry within the clan. For example Toneri who was younger can defeat several Hyuga who are older than him.
This shows how powerful his blood compared to normal Hyuga.
