As Tristan stared up at the holographic display, his mind was a mix of thoughts.
The scene shifted back to the dark gloomy cage; the elves sat and discussed pensively. The fragile beauty glanced at Tristan's transparent figure, his visage reminding her of someone in the past.
I wonder if that person will show up.
The group went silent, then the Captain of the guard spoke, "Princess, we can't put all our hopes on one man; he might have abandoned us already."
The princess rebuked, her face drowned in anger. "No, he wouldn't do such a thing, if it wasn't due to the descent of that thing—"
"Silence!"
The Captain of the guards stared at her, his expression hard. "It's best not to speak of things beyond you."
She turned away while tears streamed down her face. The younger guard held her and said to the captain, "Don't be so harsh," but he too was reprimanded.
Sometime passed and the frail beauty stared at the dim light seeping through the cell. The stars in heavens shone brightly, cascading a radiance onto the earth.
The lights of the apartment building went dark. Inside a room of a skyscraper, an alarm buzzed.
"7am, it's morning already," Marisa exclaimed. As she packed her stuff, she rushed outside to the Metropolitan area. But in the distance, one could see the ongoing reconstruction of the city; the damage was extensive, to say the least.
As Marisa entered the train station, she quickly placed her phone on the scanner and moved to the intended train. As she squeezed through the crowd, her wallet fell. She entered the train and let out a sigh of relief. She looked around the strangely empty train and took a seat near the window.
Outside the train, a white-haired young man could be seen moving through the crowd. He happened to see it as he was being shoved around. But crouching down, he quickly picked up the open wallet. He stared at the ID and looked up and saw the same girl in front.
It seems she dropped her ID, plus we seem to be going the same direction.
But a loud ding cut his train of thought. He quickly pushed through the crowd, causing a load of curses to come his way. He made it to the door of the train and he let out a yelp of excitement, but as the door opened, someone shoved in.
"Get out of the way, loser!"
A spiky-haired delinquent stepped in and sized up the white-haired boy. He went to his preferred seat and sat with his legs wide open to assert dominance. The white-haired boy stared, but with a glare from the spiky-haired boy, he shrunk back.
What's up with that guy, why is he so aggressive?
He looked around and found Marisa sitting alone by the windows. He walked up to her nervously, his anxiety nearing its peak.
He simply tapped her shoulder and held the wallet out in front of him and, before Marisa had time to say anything, he bolted off to the other side of the train.
