"How much further is this place? I'm so bored." She asks.
"Tone, if you ask that one more time, I swear I'm going to-" The Youngest is interrupted.
"Nebula, please don't ruin our mission before it has even properly started." The Oldest interrupts.
"Thank you, Kin, but seriously how much further?" Tone asks again, mainly to anger Nebula.
"I don't know, okay, I've never been there either" Kin responds, more so focused on how visibly angry Nebula is.
"There's no way I'm letting you kill more of them than me after this, TONE!" Nebula shouts as the three of them grow closer to their destination.
…
"You will take the Demon King's Place, Shinji..."
-I'm sorry, what? Also, don't wake me up with things like this. -
"You will become the Demon King, as part of our contract..."
"And, you are still sleeping, just consciously..."
-I feel like you left out a lot of important areas of our contract that I really should know. -
"You are correct, as there wasn't much time until you would die, I had no choice but to only include the main factor..."
-Surely that's against some sort of rule, right? Whatever, just tell me what you failed to mention earlier. -
"As you wish. Your enormous strength is locked deep within you and can only be released incrementally by the key holder, me..."
-Are you telling me that... the reason for my failure in strength, my embarrassment and self-loathing over this past year have been because of you!? You made me feel like shit! You called me a disappointment, made me a disappointment – why? -
"All for you to be the one to play in my game..."
-Taking my own power from me, granting immortality, killing The Demon King is all a game to you? Who and what are you? -
"I am the one you will refer to as Master, the one who will be entertained by your journey and satisfied with the result..."
-A twisted Master, that's for sure. -
"I understand you, Shinji. It seems that an obstacle is approaching..."
…
"Shinji! I have been shouting for you to wake up for ages, hurry up and get your breakfast." Kuragari wakes up Shinji from his conscious sleep.
-An obstacle... My father? Does that mean I'll have to fight him? -
"Oh y-yeah sorry I'll be right there!" Shinji finally responds.
Shinji, Kuragari and Ikehara sat down at the dinner table to eat breakfast. A distant but sharp hissing sound is heard. At first, Ikehara brushes it off to just be their heater, but when it started to get louder and closer, thicker and sharper, Kuragari knew what to do.
"TRICENTRIC SHIELD" Kuragari yelled as he cast an A+ Class Dark protection spell, creating three layers of protection above their home. In the blink of an eye, not a second later, a large and dense burning sphere of pure magic crashed through the first two layers of the spell though it were nothing; the third was disintegrated along with the magic ball itself, resulting in parts of it exploding outward, burning through the house.
"This... Is Celestial magic!?" Kuragari exclaimed.
Celestial magic is one of the four main types of magic in the world, the others being dark, light (known just as magic to most) and Primordial. Celestial magic is an ancient form of magic created by The True God that can only be wielded by Specific lifeforms: The idle celestial spirits and the holy Celestial Mages. Primordial magic, created by the Demon King, and Celestial Magic are the strongest forms of magic known to creature-kind.
Through the newly formed hole, Shinji looked up to see three floating entities attacking the whole city; they were humans, not your average, weak, E class human though - three of the most powerful type of humans to ever be born – Celestial Mages. Each of the 10 Celestial Mages are S+ class and are led by the SS- class Celestial commander. The only demon present that is above their level is Demon Lord Diablo, being the same class as their leader. Shinji knew all about these terrifying foes and that the peace between races has been broken.
...
"2,006!" Nebula, celestial of pacifism, shouts at Tone, celestial of patience.
"Tch, 2,010." Tone scoffs in reply.
"And now it's 2,220, HAHAHA!" Nebula laughs.
"What? That's not fair how come you got so many!?" Tone asks, shocked at the vast increase in such a short time.
"I don't know, I just attacked that wide building that used to be over there, must have been a school or something like that." Nebula responds, nonchalantly.
"Stop counting your kills and take this seriously for once," Kin, celestial of faith, tells the others, "We're already doomed to fail as it is."
"Just lighten up and get this over and done with, Kin." Responds Tone, "Besides, Commander only gave us the order to initiate the war because it came from The True God himself" She elaborates.
"Shut up, isn't that the commander of their strongest force, what was it called again? Nebula asks herself.
"A Supreme Archdemon commander, he's likely the strongest here" Tone interrupts her thinking's.
"Yeah, that, I've got to be the one to kill him!" Nebula insists as she readies up one of her strongest attacks, Holy light beam.
"Don't worry, Shinji, Ikehara, Diablo can be summoned here - we'll be alright – he can take them on." Kuragari reassures his family. As he looks up to start flying outward, he sees an attack much grander and faster than the previous coming straight for them. With his main defence spell on cooldown and no time to lose, Kuragari made a quick decision to save his family by using all of his strength to boost into the attack, preventing it from making contact with them and allowing Ikehara to shield Shinji and herself. The blast and Kuragari collided causing the blast to explode and diminish but leaving his remains to be a pile of ash; Shinji and Ikehara were just barely protected by Ikehara's weakened dark shield. After unexpectedly watching her husband die, Ikehara runs over to his ashes in mourn; to her dread, another Holy light beam - fired by Tone who was trying to one-up Nebula – was seconds away from impact. Unable to do anything else, Ikehara had to do the same thing as her Husband and sacrifice herself to save Shinji.
"I love you." She says to Shinji, right before she took the Holy light beam head on. She took the bulk of the impact, luckily Tone's attack wasn't as strong as Nebula's. It left only a few sparks that could harm Shinji and another pile of ashes. As he sat there within the remains of his home, in a state of fear and shock, unable to cry, Shinji could only think: "It's my fault, because I'm weak". He had just witnessed what would be a turning point in his life – the murder of his parents.
