"Wha…t? Kay?" she asked, puzzled. She glanced at William, who was also staring at Kay as if he had lost his mind.
"What happened to him?" asked William.
"I don't know," replied Journee in a high-pitched voice.
"I am feeling bad, and here you are laughing! What is wrong with you?" She grabbed her pillow and hit Kay with force. But Kay just fell on her bed, and while grabbing his stomach kept laughing. "Kay!!! What?" she shouted.
"Kay!!" commanded William.
And finally, Kay started talking, "noth…ing! Nothi…ng! She always sees me dying in her dream. For a change, she saw you dying too, ha-ha. I am not alone!!! She is capable of killing us both. We annoy her so much that she wants us dead, so she keeps killing us in her dreams."
Hearing Kay's explanation, William too started laughing. Whatever sadness, whatever guilt Journee was feeling now, went right out of the window. She clenched her jaw and stared at both her fathers and yelled, "you guys are kids, literal kids!!"
