But Bobby's hands over the siderail on Zion's bed showed her he feared for his life. His knuckles were turning white. But why would he be scared, and why scared of Kay? If Bobby came into the Hall family after the Hall Massacre, why was he scared of the poison-killer? Something else was going on, and she needed to find that out. She mentally noted that she had to keep an eye on Bobby.
"Tell us who he was?" asked Journee. She had to know what Bobby knew about Kay.
"Was? I just told you he shot at Zion, and you are saying 'was'? Ask who he is?" Bobby's eyes were widened to their largest. He almost ran to her, but her training told her to step backwards. She was ready to even hit him if he tried anything, but he just grabbed her shoulder and started pleading. That shocked her to her core. Even the iciest part of her heart melted with his begging. He had tears in his eyes and was pleading as if he were pleading for his own son. "Please, find him. Save my boy. Save our Zion."
