Lady Theressa's voice was hard, dripping with bitterness as she stated.
"You're playing with fire, Alpha. And dragon fires does not die until it had plunged everything down to hell."
Aesther was about to knock the doors when she heard a loud voice.
Her feet froze when she heard those words, and her mind fell numb. She could not tell who was speaking, but the lady had to be someone from the elder council to at least be able to speak with the Alpha that way.
"I have arranged and guided things in a way they will serve Nesmeria," her voice was getting louder, "Why must you try to 'fix' what was never broken? And still…stubbornly refusing to remove him!"
There was a short silence.
And then, Aesther heard his faint voice.
"It seems like the war had left a deep scar on you," there was clear mocking in his voice, "But tell me, Lady Theresssa. How can you say all that after doing what you… the celestial seal—"
"You know nothing!"
