Chapter 6 - Team Bonding

Emma left the office soon after introducing Julian and Asher to the rest of the team members. She wanted to give them a chance to get to know and mesh their personalities.

Emma was taking a considerable risk by having all of these kids on the same team. While their powers worked great together, their personalities were the issues.

Julian was a typical rich kid who had always gotten his way. He was the black sheep of his family and had a huge attitude problem but deep underneath, he had somewhat of a good heart and was kind to those that were kind to him.

Asher had a similar personality to Julian which was most likely why the pair didn't like each other that much. The main difference was that Asher was not rich which made him despise the other's utter wastrel attitude.

Brian was a follower and a dedicated one at that. He was a boy that searched for someone to be under. While his choices were... questionable most of the time, the boy had strong loyalty to those he did follow.

Cassidy was similar to Brian. She also had questionable taste but she was not truly a follower. Instead, she was someone that had undying loyalty to her friends which meant she supported their choices, whether good or bad.

Santo was a mix of the other 4. He was a bully and an asshole but he was loyal to his crew.

Sooraya could be the most 'normal' out of all of them. She was an introvert and shy which meant that she might not be compatible with the rowdy nature of her teammates. She was already close to requesting a new roommate after not getting along with her current one.

Fortunately for Emma, the worst did not occur after she left the room.

"Asher Edwards," Asher held out his hand and shook each of his new teammates hands. "I'll probably be the one that needs to rely on the rest of you the most so I hope that we get along."

The other members of the group were stunned by that, except for Julian. He could already understand why Asher had said that to him since he had known the other the longest.

"Why's that? Thought the leader was supposed ot be strong," Santo questioned him, already prepared to ask Emma to give him the position of co-leader if Asher's answer didn't satisfy him.

"Because he's TOO dangerous," Julian said, drawing all eyes to him."His power allows him to cut other thing up to bits. Not much peaceful uses for that on people. That means he either has to kill others or not use his powers on them. He also only recently started learning how to use that sword on his waist. Can't expect him to go all Blade or Iron Fist on others with it."

As much as he hated to admit it, Julian knew that if he and Asher were to have a fight, the outcome would be uncertain. Both were incredibly powerful. The main difference was that one of their powers could easily be used non-lethally while the other needed precise control.

Asher nodded, admitting that was Julian said was true. He had been warned several times by not only the X-Men but also his tutors. It could even be said that he wasn't suitable to be on a team like this.

The others accepted the explanation given to them without any doubt. There was no point in lying to them and it would also explain why Emma made him co-leader.

"Well thank you for your honesty. I hope that we will be able to work together well," Sooraya said from the side

"Hmm. As long as you can prove useful when we need you, we won't have any issues," Santo said

Santo's last comment left the atmosphere a little tense so Cassidy clapped her hands in an effort to get everyone's attention.

"So now that we know about Asher, how about the rest of us introduce ourselves."

So after that, the rest of the members began a round of quick introductions. Where they were from, their family, when their power first manifested. Each of them had their own trauma, which although different, they could all relate to each other. Knowing that they had all gone through their own struggles made each of the kids lower their defences and created a special bond between them.

After this bonding session, the team was acting as if they were friends that had known each other their entire lives.

To celebrate their new friendship, the richest member offered to take them all to the mall for a day of shopping. But just as they were walking out the door, several federal vehicles had just pulled up with their sirens and lights on.

All but one of the officers immediately exited their cars and pulled out their guns, aiming them at the Hellions Squad. More specifically, at Asher.

The one officer that did not aim his gun instead pulled out his badge and a piece of paper.

"Asher Edwards. I am agent Richards. We have a warrant for your arrest for the murder of Joshua Edwards. Please come with us quietly otherwise we will use force to bring you in."
