And so, Bastian called back his Whimsur, and he switched Poké Balls with his third Pokémon, a Watchog. Watchog was serious and ready for battle. Rico was astonished, and he, without a word, pulled out his Pokédex one last time and pointed it at Watchog; it responded, "Watchog, the Lookout Pokémon, and the evolved form of Patrat.
Without a word, Rico shoved his Pokédex back in his pants pocket and focused back on the third and last round of this battle.
Absol was as determined as last time.
"Watchog, use Ice Punch!" Bastian commanded Watchog.
Watchog lunged at Absol with an icy fist.
"Dodge it, Absol!" Rico roared. "And then use Dark Pulse again!"
Absol did so and then used Dark Pulse on Watchog for the flippin' third time, releasing a horrible aura ray imbued with dark aura energy.
Watchog was struck down hard, but it managed to get up.
"Ice Punch by a Watchog?" Rico thought. "Strange…"
"Woah, that Dark Pulse was strong like last time!" Bastian was stunned; he returned to his determined and serious expression. "But doesn't matter! Watchog, use Take Down!"
His Watchog then used Take Down, doing a reckless, full-body charge attack to slam into Absol.
Absol then did a rotating dodge and then struck down Watchog hard.
Watchog was now on the verge of being defeated.
"Woah, Absol did that again!" Marshall responded while getting up from his seat for a few moments.
"What type of Absol was it?" Jonathan hitched a breath.
Shion remained silent, feeling envious of Rico's Absol on the inside.
"Quickly, Watchog, keep your act together!" Bastian called out to his Watchog. "Again, use Ice Punch!"
"Absol, use Night Slash, now!" Rico quickly and seriously commanded Absol.
Absol did so and used Dark Slash, slashing the foe with dark and fast auras
A mix of smoke and dust covered them. Once it cleared, Watchog was defeated. Bastian was shocked; his jaw dropped greatly.
"Watchog was unable to battle," the referee announced. "Watchog wins, and Rico won the battle."
"Oh, yes!" Rico roared in victory. "Way to go, Absol!"
Absol responded with pride.
