Ever since receiving Ruby Mercer's call, Emmett has been running around with his assistant, trying to find evidence that Roselyn Mercer underwent plastic surgery to become Nora Stanley, but no matter how hard they search, they can't find anything.
Whenever there's a hint or clue, it falls apart, and to make matters worse, he's even asked some people from the fringes of legality to help investigate.
After much difficulty, they found a plastic surgery hospital with an 80% chance of being the hospital where Roselyn Mercer had her surgery back in the day.
But when they sent someone to inquire, the hospital stated that two years ago there was a huge fire, and everything in the records room was destroyed.
Unless that person came to the hospital again, those "historical" documents have long since turned to ashes and are buried deep underground.
