"Who's Miss Mercer? Please sign for the flowers!" A delivery man rushed in from outside, shouting loudly.
In this situation, it's hard not to get everyone's attention.
"Ruby, someone outside wants you to sign for something!" Lila knocked on the door, too afraid to enter the dressing room.
Ruby Mercer breathed a sigh of relief and rushed to the door; being in the room with Christopher Moore was truly stifling!
Ruby felt like her heart was about to jump out of her chest. If she stayed any longer, she might have a heart attack. If only Christopher would quietly go about his paperwork, but he insisted on gazing at her with those longing eyes.
Anyone else, Ruby could have kicked him senseless, knocked him unconscious! But this was Christopher Moore. Never mind that she couldn't take him down; she couldn't cause a scene here, or how could she stay with the crew?
